Honestly, I was afraid of starting this book as I heard that it is difficult to read and too complicated. Despite numerous long monologues that this book contains, the plot and stories are incredibly interesting and make you think deeply about questions that have been posed. Characters are well-developed and the writing style is beautiful!
I found this book on the public street bookshelf and was captured by the title. I always knew about the caste system in India, but I have never read more about it, and choosing this book was one step in learning more.
The book and stories were interesting (some stories made me even cry), but the writing was sometimes dry. But this is this author's first novel, and she gathered a lot of documents and interviews from her family. I greatly appreciate that and can close my eyes to her writing style.
