The first book was a solid and fun entry, not amazing but solid. This kept the same quality, however I was really disappointing and a bit bored by the location change to what felt in the end to be a temporary place that had no real impact on the overall plot. I admit I could be wrong, and hopefully I am. It just felt like a rug pull after all the setup in the first book to then leave all those characters behind for an entire book. Yes, I understand those characters get some PoV chapters in this book, I just mean how the MC literally leaves them behind for an entire book.
