In Binti, the protagonist is a young Himba tribeswoman who literally leaves the world she knows to pursue education at the most prestigious university in her galaxy - where she will be the first of her kind to attend. Along her journey she changes in more ways than she could ever have anticipated. The book is a quick read and fast-paced, but hits on topics of clashing cultures, cultural vs personal identity, self-discovery, and more all in an interesting sci-fi setting with unique and interesting characters.
