what a gem of a book - it's a super brief, subtle yet beautiful glimpse of a small corner of the world. i think Claire Keegan balances so many of the charming, simple details of a Christmastime Irish town (and its shortcomings) with such a pressing issue in a very impressive way. the plot remains incredibly simple but beautiful nonetheless. i see why some people adore it and why it doesn't strike others as very interesting, still i enjoyed it and i recommend reading and rereading this, especially to those that have visited ireland - it nicely captures the country and its culture

fantastic ending. stephen king is for sure great at what he does and all that. this isnt any classic masterpiece but it was definitely a very fun read and touches on great themes. i'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for a fun read with great storytelling and you think the premise is fun

even with my unblemished record of premium masculinity i sobbed

everyone was gay and pretentious highly recommend beauty is terror

there is so much that is beautiful and undeniably important about this book, but it was rough getting through it

this book was really cool and I still think about a lot of the themes it shows, some gripes with some things in the plot but if everyone read this book the world would be saved

4.5* brilliant storytelling with very nuanced awesome ness

uhhhhh..... sex...... knowledge..... hermitages... i have no valid reason or position to be in to properly justify my rating but I couldn't pay too much attention to it in class

pretty good interesting quick book, very important topic take about in such an interesting way, i just wish there was more substance (80 pages) but i highly recommend to readers in mr guffords class 3.5

and this was depressing

i loved this book very much

wowwwwww i loved this, holly black once again did not disappoint with her world building and writing. the ending is crazy and riveting. a worthy sequel

highly recommend book. it's written in such a unique and beautiful way, it tells such a poignant story about an Iranian boy's life, i'm blown away... it navigates around a plethora of stories, some more captivating than others, and by the end i can deeply understand the narrator and the experiences he tells about - even finding value in the moments where it almost lost my interest. well worth the read

a beautiful story about destiny; i could not connect to some of the themes in this book but overall it tells profound lessons about life.

solid book with very practical and important takeaways; some case studies were a bit stretched perhaps but overall very fascinating book; we did it, we thought again

i'm blown away by holly black's world building and writing and imagery and etc, this is a great and masterfully made story and book, i highly recommend it and 4.5⭐️ bc i'm leaving room for the other two books to be even better

i think a five star rating would be most fit for this series as a whole but nonetheless this was a great, gripping, and unique experience with the most beautiful illustrations i've ever seen; a great first read
