Prós: Gostosinho demais de ler, o autor escreve muito bem, o conto é divertido e entende de si, de um jeito que permite uma experiência agradável. Arthur realmente escreve uma história com começo, meio e fim em menos de 70 páginas, e faz um relacionamento romântico e natural que seria facilmente adaptado para um livro inteiro, fora que o final deixa a gente querendo saber mais da cena sobrenatural de Salvador. Com certeza quero ler mais do meu conterrâneo!
Cons.: alguns erros bobos não passaram pela revisão e me incomodaram durante a leitura. Tem um milhão de referências a crepúsculo e o começo parece não ter explicação lógica.

Some things did not go as planned at all, and there's a lot of character development that had to be had in this and I get it, I understand, I just don't like it.
Part of me was battling myself a lot of times during the reading experience because I wanted perfect almost easy. Tracy didn't give me easy, she gave me complex, and messy and in construction, and a different kind of reluctant hero coming of age.
But Tracy also gave me meaningful, mysterious, captivating and deeply enjoyable, and for that I am thankful.
I've been wanting to read this book for the whole year, and I kept postponing it without reason because I'm me, but now that I'm done, oh my god, this is glorious.
I adore it when a piece of literature catches me by surprise, and this book did. Not because I didn't know it would be good, because honestly there are so many good reviews of trusted people sharing how good it is, but because of the dept I wasn't aware this book had.
Without spoiling, I can only say that well-rounded characters with good backgrounds and a solid plot will always make a 5-star story for me, and this is exactly that.
I absolutely adore Rune, Bran, Max, QUINN, Adam and Ciaran. I love my found family and how different they all are, but also how even if broken by life they're still such a lovely bunch.
Look, you have gotta understand this is not really a 5-star read because some plot points were messed up to get it together by the end, and even HIGH ON THE ENDORPHINS I got from reading this I noticed, BUT THIS IS A FIVE STARS READ-IN MY HEART AT 3:52 AM OF A WEDNESDAY WHERE I'M WRITING THIS.
I love me a good cliche well done, and Nordika did them all justice.

ALL OF THEM WERE WELL DONE. Like, you wouldn't believe it because this got only 300 pages and she also gave us PLOT, AND CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT.
And I realized it was gonna be a good one when 30 pages in I was inside their heads and understanding exactly what made them thick. Nordika IS THAT GOOD. The fact that they got together but the rivalry still stands? CHEFF KISS.

O enredo é sem sentido e não se sustenta pela quantidade de furos, não é factível nem crível em absolutamente nada que se propõe. O sexo é ruim de doer, e as coisas que deveriam ser sexy só são anti-higiênicas mesmo;
Não existe um mistério real, o que existe é uma escrita porca que tenta omitir os detalhes para parecer um plot twist e acaba deixando várias pontas soltas e perguntas sem resposta. Todos os pontos do enredo são fáceis de mais de descobrir pois são clichês que foram pessimamente utilizados.

This is nice, the narrative is easy to follow, nothing annoying happens, the characters have some depth, but the fact it was so insta-love was a hard sell for me.
There's nothing to be built on other than sexual attraction to explain why the characters behaved the way they did.
The audiobook is really good and I recommend it if you wish to read this book

Não existe a possibilidade de consumir um livro com um personagem negro escrito por uma pessoa branca que não possui consciência racial nem social e isso está claro na construção da personagem Zara.
Pessoas negras não são recurso narrativo de desenvolvimento para o seu protagonista branco.
Existem inúmeras formas de aprofundar e tornar um relacionamento crível, mas esvaziando o personagem negro por tokenismo e tábua de salvação para sua personagem branca transparece racismo e pobreza na escrita.
Ao ler a descrição eu acreditei que a história me contaria sobre a morte de Lilian e a rivalidade dela com sua irmã, Zaria. De certa forma, isso até acontece, mas completamente diferente do que eu pensei, o que foi inesperado e gostoso de acompanhar.
O livro é bem escrito, a forma de contar os fatos te deixa interessado em saber mais e mais sobre o enredo, e no final tudo que você quer é devorar o livro inteiro. Interessada em acompanhar o resto da história.
Sei que o conceito de conto é algo que seja breve e conciso, e curto, mas pessoalmente os melhores contos que eu já li me deixam desejando mais. Os contos mais memoráveis são os que você leria facilmente um livro inteiro de 300 páginas ou mais sobre.
Entranhas estranhas entrega isso em maior parte de suas histórias. Enquanto algumas são começo, meio e fim, outras terminam te deixando ávido por continuação. E algumas histórias presentes nesse livro são de certa forma uma continuação o que tornou a leitura ainda mais prazerosa.
O único defeito da obra são alguns erros gramaticais e que não foram corrigidos durante a revisão, fora isso, recomendo bastante caso você goste de contos, mistério, horror e suspense.

I don't think I've ever read a book like this.
This is trippy because Jade is fully trippy as a character and as a protagonist. Being inside Jade's head was fun, but it was also confusing, I didn't get all the references, but the ones I got made sense and weirdly elated me. Jade is unhinged, delusional, and honest to god and needs lots of therapy and good friends. And for a second there I rooted a lot for her and Letha to get together.
The end left me wanting more, and I know it is purposeful because this is a trilogy, but I still feel a little unsatisfied by this, like something I needed wasn't delivered.
However, the author's acknowledgments were touching for me. Knowing the reason why SGJ decided to write this book and the process, shaped it beautifully, and it's ultimately the reason for my rating.
This is a solid 3.5.
The beginning is fun, Cat is a solid heroine, Bones is amusing, and the audiobook is well recorded, my problem with this was that I wanted Urban Fantasy and this is Paranormal Romance.
There were many love declarations and sex when I wanted worldbuilding and more vampire stuff.
It wasn't for me, but it may be great for you if that's what you're looking for.
This broke my almost month-long slump.
I started and stopped so many books it's rather funny a very mid-book took me out of it. This is a solid 3.5 book.
The logic isn't there for some moments, and some of what the protagonist can do is entirely uncharted and unchallenged in the book. I do like the relationships Kendra has with her mom and her best friend, and the plot was nice enough, even though the story behind the murders was lacking and the way it was solved was kind of bland. The last death was so freaking stupid, ugh.
Even with the issues, sometimes you may need a quick and steady read to get you out of the funk this can be it for you.
This is extremely readable.
There isn't much development, the book is really really short, and things between Logan and Lana happen pretty fast, but they do have chemistry and they're the kind of sweet and healthy couple we would love to see more in media.
I'm in for the ride, I'm finishing the series.
This was fun but mostly because I was laughing at the book and not with it.
A lot in this is superficial, juvenile, awkward and so freaking cringe it hurts.
The writing is nothing to write home about and the story is barely put together. The couple got the chemistry of best friends that would say ewwww at the possibility of kissing. I had so many gripes about the way the plot was developed and how the same things could have been accomplished in different ways. By the end I just wanted it over so I started skimming a little bit, not even that saved the book for me.
Nonetheless, it was a good experience for me because I and my friends discussed it and made fun of some stuff and went off the rails with theories and pictures and kindness, and that is the only reason this is getting upgraded.
Okay, I will preface this by saying that this was a highly anticipated read of mine and FINALLY I WASN'T DISAPPOINTED.
I heard about this book last year from many many people and I was always at the cusp of reading it, but took me a little to get to it, but I am finally here, and I'm happy to be a locked tomb girlie.
Nonetheless, some things were not what I expected.
A lot is said by this being a challenging book, and a book that will blow your mind with its mystery and I really ought to say: lower your expectations a little bit, not because this is a bad book, but because expectation is the mother of disappointment.
Gideon the Ninth can be a difficult book because Tamsyn Muir's writing here is purposefully dense and sometimes a little clunky. Many many words, sentences, and wordplays are sculpted to be hard on compression in a way that sometimes felt the book was telling me a lot without really saying anything. That is a big problem at the beginning of the book, its first 150 pages aren't earned for how wordy it is, if you are reading this without reading the book, I tell you PUSH THROUGH IT ITS WORTH IT. I could have done with a different way to tell the story, but Tamsyn is a good storyteller and this was the way she wanted to tell her story and I am happy I didn't give up. That is the extent of “difficulty” this book contains.
I've seen lots of people struggling with names, I didn't. I have a pretty good memory and once I learned their names I didn't struggle to recall, nor did I think Gideon was bad at naming the characters because plenty of context clues were given to me.
I also saw lots of people surprised by the twists, and I will say that I didn't predict the big fight at the end, or the “metamorphosis” the characters go through but everything else I guessed correctly. I figured the big bad at 48% of the book and it was hilarious because some friends tried to throw me off and I was like, nope I trust no beach. I also managed not to get spoiled which was a feat.
My favorite parts were the character development of Harrow and Gideon, Tamsyn managed to build a great story with loveable characters that you can relate to and love and suffer for, and if you know anything about me, know this: I am a plot princess that is also character-focused and Tamsyn did all of this for me. I also love murder mysteries and puzzle pieces and I adore following the clues and piecing everything together, and being right at the end about some things made this even more rewarding.
I love Gideon's silliness and golden retriever personality, my girl is a sunshine and she's so lovely and I only ever want to see her smile forever. But I knew I was going to love Gideon, I loved her from the premises of the book alone.
The real surprise was loving Harrow as fiercely and protectively as I do now. The Reverend's Daughter was my favorite character in this book, and from her first appearance, I couldn't do anything other than be in awe of her power, intelligence, fast thinking, and capableness. Harrow is my kind of character because she's not only the smartest person in the room she's also the girl with a huge heart hidden in her sleeve and I cannot deal with those types, I am easy pickings for a character with a tragic background that is powerful and good despite that. I cannot wait to get to her book.
All in all, this is a solid 4.5 stars and I'm a fan of Tamsyn's work now.
