I can't remember a time in my life before books. My parents have bought books for me and my brother since we were toddlers, and I loved listening to and then reading all those stories. It's impossible to remember all the titles of the hundreds of children's books made available to us via purchase or through the town's children's library (I read the entirety of that library, and this is not hyperbole). Still, this is one of those that stood out. I loved it so much that I read and reread it constantly. I never owned this book, but whenever I visited that library, this was one of the books I brought home with me. I must have been 7 years old.
