An amazing read that spoke to my "naive" beliefs 😭

The first half was pretty slow but wholesome, the sort of world through the AFs eyes was really cute but then the slow revelations of the world in the second half really got me

honestly what a journey, was totally heartbroken thinking about what might lie ahead after every page turn

Read this for a Uni class. Really personal touch on a journey that is not so easy. Really makes me look at the intricacies of culture and politics that go into simply being in a foreign country, let alone one that has many sensitivities about foreigners, but without it feeling like it was all about that. (Also makes me feel SO terrible for still not being able to master the Chinese language damn, I really just need me a regular local noodle shop)

Thought it was a very interesting and easy to grasp book on topics that usually seem unreachable. Not only that there is a level of wit that adds to its quality and entertainment value. Would recommend it to anyone. (Writing this review ages after reading)
