This series continues to be one of my favorites.

I finished but honestly, I am shocked that this is from the same person who wrote reborn as a demonic tree. This felt very ham-fisted, poorly edited constantly repeated information over and over; multiple times in the same chapter and between chapters. I didn’t find a single word, redeeming character in this book. I honestly feel that this world could do with an apocalypse and just wipe out all the main characters.

Audiobook chapters are too long, 1hr+, pretty much a single chacter for the book. Extremely long segments analyzing for gains that don’t feel like they appear. Breaking point for me was too long describing tunneling out/around a giant skeleton with no break of the monotony except stat sheets but it’s not even crunchy.

Too much telling not showing. MC is basically worlds #1 assassin with photographic memory and speaks 7 languages before reincarnating. Reincarnates and gets in a fight, but forgets his weapon. Also author instead of describing something uses other media.

How can an original work feel like a fan fiction of itself.
