thank god it's finished. though I recognise the novelty of the idea and the mastering of the craft, this was not a read for me. i found it boring and aimless. almost DNF ed 😵‍💫 i will now read dear thief of the same author because i sense she can write a book i could love.

it was not great but from time to time it had some surprising depth

this is a great book for first-time Tove Ditlevsen readers. I didn't find it challenging. On the contrary, it is simple and yet profound, the hardest thing to achieve for a writer.
