Phew, this series starts out with a bang - literally! A small child is wreaking havoc on a farm, and anyone that comes into what used to be his family's property.
When a new couple moves into the home, the activity within the home ramps up immediately. They may just not live long enough to enjoy their new house...
Fabulous read!
With Janet out of the way, Diane is now working to rid herself of Dan, and obtain the house that she wants - at any cost. She is about to discover that he is not going to give up so easily, and she might be in over her head.
I was NOT expecting that ending! Wow! Really enjoyed reading through these books, and the series ended perfectly. Can't wait to see what is next!
Absolutely LOVED this book! Aidan Dodson brings Tutankhamen to life in an entirely new way, and while the information is not new - it was a fabulous read. There were things I knew, some I didn't, and it was a great dive into Ancient Egypt, and the life of a pharaoh that was lost to time for over 3000 years.
Highly recommend this read to anyone who enjoys history, and wants to dive into the life of the boy king.
How do you fight those that are dead? How do you protect something that is haunted by ghosts?
In the haunted village, nothing is as it seems, and visiting there just might cost you your life. There are those who are attempting to fight back, but they do not get very far before they are cut down. Then there is the child, one who can command the ghosts, even those who are dangerous to everyone else. What do they want with him?
This was an amazing book! I kept holding my breath, trying to figure out what was going to happen next! From the ghost Kimberly, who is killing at an alarming rate, to the men trying to protect Abel Worthe, the story took a few twists and turns that I was not expecting! I will be waiting with baited breath to see what happens in the next book!
The saga of the haunted village continues, with a surprising new inhabitant - and the discovery of some powers that one holds. As the “experiment” continues, the dynamics are about to shift, and Mr. Worthe might find that his theory was all wrong from the beginning...
Great read! I absolutely LOVED this book! Now onto the next...
Wow! What a read! This is a book that is hard to put down. I absolutely enjoyed this read!
This horror piece will keep you on the edge of your seat from the start, and one that you will need to dedicate the time to read as soon as you start. This is not a start and pick up later read.
Highly recommend!
Marcus, Alex, and Joyce are aware of two younger boys brought into the village, and are determined to rescue them. However, Worthe has upped the stakes, and made it harder for the trio to help the young boys.
They are still determined to escape the village, but they are finding it to be more difficult than they first thought.
This was a good read, although, as a mother, it was difficult at times. Overall, still loved it. Ron Ripley is one of my favorite authors.
The story of the Haunted Village continues, and a new ghost has moved in. This time, Marcus and his group must weigh the odds of their survival against the newest member brought in, and determine whether they can save her or not.
Great read, and I love that these shorts allow me to get through a book in one sitting. I cannot wait to dive into the next book!
As the third book kicks off, the dynamics are changing from the second book. As Marcus and his small band work together, they watch as another home is brought into the village, and a new ghost that they are going to have to deal with.
As a new member is brought in, the group tries in vain to save him ... but time will tell if they are going to be successful or not.
Absolutely enjoyed this one! I could not put it down until I had finished! For horror fans, this is a series that you are going to want to read!
This was a fascinating view of the life of Christiane Desroches-Noblecourt, and her work in Egyptology. When many others were focusing on “proper” rules of the day, Christiane defied convention and went after her dreams.
I enjoyed the book immensely, and for those who enjoy history - and Egyptian history, this is one book that will appeal to you!
Shane Ryan has been sent a rather odd invitation, and he is determined to figure out what it is, and where it came from. However, upon investigating, he finds himself entering a dangerous world, one where the only way to get out, is to be the last one alive...
What an amazing book! I thoroughly enjoyed this read! The narrator did a fabulous job, and the content held my attention throughout.
Horror fans, you will LOVE this one!
Book two of this series did not disappoint! I loved the first book, and the second was just as good.
Marcus and Alex have been doing their best to stay alive, battling the ghosts as needed in the village. However, their dynamic is about to change, as a new home with a new ghostly resident is moved in, and a newly married couple is abducted and held for the new ghost.
With a few twists and turns thrown in, this was a great read!
What happens when you get dumped into a village full of the dead? Marcus is about to find out. Mr. Worthe has created a village of the dead, moving homes into a secured area, and then dropping test subjects to see how they manage. Marcus has, so far, lasted far longer than anyone expected, and now has additional people to care for.
He also has the help of one of the ghosts, that he has released from her torment, and he is determined to alleviate at least one of the stronger ghosts.
I truly enjoyed this book! It was amazing! Shorter chapters allow for a better stopping point as needed, and just the right amount of creep factor. Ron Ripley is one of my favorite authors.
Garry J. Shaw takes us on a journey through the life of Tutankhamen - both before and after his death.
While there was not really any new information portrayed in this book, it was an easy read, and a fun way to dive back into the life of the Egyptian pharaoh that captivated the world when his tomb was discovered in 1922.
Enjoyable and easy to read!
Absolutely one of my favorite books of the year! I love anything to do with Egyptian history, and this book details aspects of the pharaohs, their reigns, and the turmoil and conflicts they were dealing with.
Masterfully put together, this book is a bit overwhelming at times with the information, so those not completely familiar with Egyptian history may feel overwhelmed. I could not put this one down!
Absolutely LOVED this! I was hooked from the start, and could not put it down. There were so many different cases and theories presented, as well as the updates from the cases. Some of the cases are a bit hard on the stomach, so don't read or listen to this book while eating if you get queasy easily, but overall it was fabulous.
Highly recommended to anyone that enjoys true crime!
As I started reading this book, it was a bit different than what I was expecting, as I chose it on the title alone, but I did find that I really enjoyed the book.
Looking at the different cases of human sacrifice, in the modern world, but fascinating. It was interesting to learn a bit more about the different religions still using human sacrifices, and some of the lengths they will go to.
Good read! Very informative.
This was a fun and informative book for battles around the American Revolution. I loved that each were laid out easily. If you know a little bit about the American Revolution, you will still enjoy these stories. If you know nothing about the American Revolution, this is a fun and easy way to dive into some of the battles, and the major players.
For kids who are interested in history, this is a perfect book!
Gripping and mesmerizing!
I absolutely LOVED this book! The artic exploration undertaken by Vilhjalmur Stefansson was doomed from the start. Although Captain Bob Bartlett had some misgivings about how things were being done, he continued through with the commitment that he had made - not only to the trip, but to the men that were along on the fated voyage.
As the Karluk became encased in ice, Stefansson departed, taking the cowards way out of the situation, and leaving the men on the ship to their fate. He never thought about going back for them, or looking for survivors. He was only thinking of himself and the glory that he was so fleetingly chasing. Bartlett saw the mission through, although he spent months worrying about the people he had left behind in the ice. He had to find help, and fast. If he was not able to get help, then everyone would perish.
This book was amazing from start to finish. The compelling story gave an inside account of the men, their thoughts, and the occurrences that happened as they waited for rescue. The amazing fortitude and will to survive their predicament was palpable, and you could almost feel their desperation as you read through the pages.
Overall, I found this very useful. My family likes to hunt, but I am always looking for ways to create meals around the meat that we bring into the freezer. We get tired of eating it the same way all the time.
These recipes are easy to follow, and not to difficult. Anyone can follow and share these with ease.
Delicious and tasty!
When a little ghost wants to learn to start scaring, her parents help her, but she is unable to scare anyone. Her parents agree to send her to the scariest ghost to learn the practice.
However, when she arrives, she finds he is just scared himself, not looking to scare other people.
Enjoyed reading through this! I love a different type of ghost story!
Oh my, what a fantastic read! Toby is a young boy, who is taking care of his mother, who suffers from MS. As a carer, he doesn't have many friends, and spends most of his time at home. But things change when a witch crashes into his attic - and Toby is off on the adventure of a lifetime!
This was so much fun, and a great read overall. It was one of those books that pulls you in and refuses to let you stop until you finish the last page. Get your kids reading this summer, and share an adventure that they will not soon forget.
