Sharon Fuller should have been happy with the life she was given. However, nothing was good enough for Sharon. She wanted more. She wanted excitement, and she wanted as much money as she could get her hands on.
As a preacher's wife, she was finding that life was not fulfilling. After they transfer to a new congregation, she begins looking for her next victim, I mean husband. Although still married, she begins an affair with a doctor, one who happens to be an elder in their church. When the money runs out, and things start to unravel, Sharon convinces a lover to murder her husband.
When she remarries, she quickly finds that the match is not good - and it is not going to last. If she hopes to get any insurance money, this husband is going to have to have an accident - and soon.
Oh my goodness, this book. I hated this woman - her manipulations and the many families that she tore apart. She was working to have a better life than what she grew up in, but she ruined many lives along the way. Nothing was off limits, and she lived by no rules. The detectives who are looking into the death of her last husband are convinced that she is guilty of much more - and they had no idea what they were fixing to walk into.
It was an interesting read. As much as Sharon irked me, I could not put this book down. It was a fabulous book, with a very interesting array of characters.
Hazel loves Halloween, but she seems to be alone. As she wishes for a friend to share the spooky season with, she meets a new friend in the cemetery. As he shows her around, a few kids show up, kids who can be her friend outside of the Halloween season.
Great story! I enjoyed it and the illustrations were amazing!
You would think waking up surrounded by the dead would be enough for anyone. But Vincent has the voices of the dead in his head. As he works to find out who he is, and what he may have done, he is also trying to get the voices in his head to disappear. But that is easier said than one, especially when one is a powerful witch - with very powerful friends - who only want to see Vincent dead.
Ohh, these keep getting better, and I can't wait to see what happens next! This one had me on the edge of my chair!
As Dylan starts thinking that he has finally put his past behind him - and the demon is gone for good - he starts a family and moves forward with a professional career.
However, when his young daughter begins exhibiting some weird behaviors, Dylan begins to worry, but his wife brushes off his concerns. When Evelyn comes to visit, things take an even weirder turn, and he is forced to confront the possibility that the demon might now be targeting his daughter.
Get ready for a ride, this book is going to take some interesting twists! I won't give you the deets, you have to read the book for yourself!
Beset by a demon, Dylan is not sure how to cope, or what his parents will think. He does everything he can until he is deemed dangerous, and lashes out at a fellow student at school. As his parents start to understand, and then deny what is going on, Dylan is left struggling for answers.
What an interesting read. Kept me interested until the end.
Things just keep getting worse for poor Vincent. As soon as he satisfies one voice, another pipes up. Each leads him down another path, and another way that he could end up dead - for good this time.
Heavens - I didn't think this series could get better, but it has! I love it! Book four promises so much more!
With the banishment of the demon, Dylan starts to feel like he can live a regular life again. However, he doesn't count on the demon returning. As he begins to be tormented by the demon again, he begins to struggle for answers. Knowing what it did to his parents the first go around, he attempts to shield them as much as possible, searching for Dr. Dark.
I enjoyed this one, much more than book one. The characters felt more defined and well-developed.
Get lost in the jungles, and go on an epic adventure in the search for a lost city. Douglas Preston takes you through Honduras, and the decades-long search for the White City. Many are convinced that it does not exist, but there are some that are sure it does.
This was a fascinating read, and it was a great journey! I absolutely LOVED this book. For those who are interested in archaeology and lost civilizations, this will captivate you from the beginning, and share the ups and downs of excavating in a jungle setting.
Instead of a wonderful new life, Sara is about to find her worst nightmares awaiting her in Paradise Cove.
As they try to get the floundering resort off the ground, they are forced to confront not only local entities, but a dark haunting that has been waiting to be released.
Will Sara, Joe, and their friends survive?
Sara is about to confront her worst fear, and the hardest part, is that she is not the only one inhabiting her body. The ghost of a young lady is haunting her, trying to regain the life that she lost when she drowned in the bay.
What a fantastic read! I loved it! Great horror with a bit of island mystical thrown in.
The problems at the resort are coming full circle. If Sara and her friends cannot contain the evil, it will spread outside their small island, and death will visit the entire world.
Oh, my, goodness. I could not STOP reading! Fantastic and engaging, you are going to be turning the pages as fast as possible to get to the end.
Oh goodness. As a mother, there were parts of this story that infuriated me, but like our main heroine, I would go to the ends of the earth to protect my babies. As the second great war is beginning, there are many with sympathies toward what the Germans are doing - but there is a lot in this story that is going to draw at your heartstrings. It was a hard, but amazing read, and I could not put this one down! Perfect for a weekend at the beach!Â
What a fantastic story! This was super hard to put down, and I enjoyed each and every page. The story of Eleni and Otto was fascinating. Otto, a young German officer, does not hold to everything that his country is doing - and you can see the struggle that he is going through. Eleni exudes a quiet strength, and when the two come together, WOW!Â
This was a great read and one that you are going to truly enjoy!Â
Thank you to HarperCollins for a copy of this book to read and review.
Absolutely, hands down, one of my favorite reads of this year. Looking to avenge the deaths of her family, Sarah joins the British Secret Service, and begins working to help bring an end to war, the best that she can. She is entirely dedicated to her work, going on a dangerous mission. But when someone is determined to be a mole, the mission and work become that much more dangerous.Â
I seriously could not put this book down. Talk about a book hangover the next day at work! This was a charged read, as you are holding your breath, waiting to see what is going to happen next.Â
Perfection in a book!Â
As the group bands together, they discover that they have been banned from their families. Power seems to be a constant struggle, and as the two sides battle over which is correct, the horror continues.
Within the Leviathan, they are determined to stop the monster once and for all - but new horrors await, and there is going to be one consequence that no one is prepared to deal with...
Good read! Enjoyed this one! Can't wait to see how this series winds up!
Daisy and her husband Richard are just trying to find a place to start fresh. They want to leave the past behind them, forget what happened in London, and move forward. But Daisy is about to find that there is more to their new house than just a stain on the wall.
Interesting read, and some loose ends throughout the book. Enough to keep me interested to try the second book in this series.
