As someone who is asexual and married and deeply in love with my partner, I did appreciate some aspects of how being ace was represented here. It is complicated and hard, and can definitely be a huge hurdle when you have an allo partner (my wife is also ace!). Thorough communication was very refreshing and though I wish a few things were handled with a bit more nuance, overall I thought their relationship was portrayed in a very realistic manner.
I wish the characters were older considering the subject matter, and that the main character could think for one second about something other than boys or deeply teen angst. Yes, of course she has a ton of trauma, but it didn't feel well written.
I had trouble getting into the story with the narrator of the audiobook and to me a slow start. I thought I would love the narrator, but unfortunately it felt too forced the longer I was listening. I really wanted to love this book, but maybe I'll give it another chance some other time.
Not fast enough of a hook
