I didn't love this book the way I loved some of Atwood's other works. There are some interesting ideas here, but the characters aren't sympathetic.

this could have easily been two books, and the first one of them would have gotten a five star rating from me. The initial story is gripping and well-paced, with characters we grow to like, but the “epilogue” tells a completely different story, with new and weaker characters that goes on for two thirds of the book.

We found this for my nephew and niece. It's hilarious!

I haven't read Asterix since I was a teenager, and my memory may be foggy, but this just didn't seem to hold up to the quality of the old books.

Very quotable and, in the final chapters, extremely apropos the current political situation in America.

I admit that I was sceptical at first, because this book seemed to deviate from the formula by immediately breaking up the crew, but each individual story thread that came out of that was gripping, and made the book impossible to put down. Nice meeting some of my favorite side characters from earlier books again, too.

not every one of these short stories is a winner, bit overall I enjoyed the book quiet a lot.

What an intense book. As dystopias go, this is one of the most oppressive, dark and inhumane ones in any book I have read.

Trippy, occasionally funny, but I don't quite see the comparisons to Douglas Adams that some reviewers have made.

Even though I did not grow up with a VCS, this book triggers in me nostalgia for early computer games and systems. Good to see a reflection on the early days of our industry like this.

I agree with every other reviewer that says there is too much violence in this book. It also doesn't go anywhere for a very long time, and the early half of it was a real slog.

I could not really say what this book was about, and I didn't enjoy the new characters as much as the ones in the previous books. Still enjoying the universe, and will likely pick up book five when I get a chance, but no top marks from me for this particular one.

I think this book might have been better than the first, even. Bobbie and Avasarala are my favorite new characters in a long time.

I enjoyed this collection of short stories by different collaborators, all set in the world of the Mouse Guard, but I think I'm in the market for another long story about Lieam and his friends now.

Wonderful origin story of Celanawe and the Black Axe. I'm also currently reading the Mouse Guard RPG, which has me wishing I could play this.

more wonderful world-building, and an exciting adventure that make me want to check out the pen and paper rpg. I particularly liked the addition of the hares, and the portraial of their relationship with the mice.

Very nicely done story of first love. Touching, although very Midwestern American.

I cannot judge the quality of the adaptation, since I have never read the source material, but as a way to get the gist of what goes on in the story, this book was an enjoyable experience, and certainly a quicker read.
