See allThe book would have been better if the author had spent more time explaining his theory about Oumuamua's origin and discussing the bits of data we do have. Instead, the author spent more time criticizing the scientific community and their "theories." So at the end of the day, he didn't write enough to convince me.
The atmosphere the author creates is excellent, the darkness, the loneliness, the smells all come together well. The pacing is good, but it does slow down halfway through, luckily things start moving along again afterward. Many of the relationships felt superficial, and the changing point of view made things confusing for me at times. If you're expecting to get scared or expecting monsters, this will disappoint you. If you enjoy things such as the paranormal, mysteries, crimes, and amateur sleuthing, you'll love this book.

If you've played the video games this novel is based on, it helps answer some unanswered questions, and you get more details about characters you hear of or see in the games. Unfortunately, I was unable to finish the novel because of the really slow pacing. The novel doesn't follow a single character but three to four different characters from their own point of view. Up until I stopped reading, not much happened. Most of what I read consisted of characters interacting inside settlements, talking to each other about the past or collecting things they need. I may give it another try in the future though.
