the author is going to kill Soren in book 2 this is my prediction based purely on the fact that he's my favorite character. also it felt like the author was trying to make some kind of commentary on racism but it kinda fell flat. also the romance was kinda meh. world building? excellent. characters? fun. magic system? interesting. OH and we could have cut 200-300 pages from this. I didn't need the mid act three drama.
starting to think that Ruby Dixon has a breeding kink. also after the fourth hint that the fmc was going to get pregnant I was like “yeah I get it” and the mmc being good at sex immediately after losing his virginity? sigh.

the author does this weird thing with contractions and the main characters are super annoying and fake edgy
this is very... millennial. and I say that as one. the voice is the exact same as the few pages of “a house with good bones” except here, right after what I'm assume is wwi, it's wildly out of place.
