The Book Thief

The Book Thief
ByMarkus Zusak

Why this book?

This book was so real, so humanizing, and having it told from death's perspective was fascinating. It delivered complex topics in a way that was appropriate for younger kids, but it was still so, so real. A timeless and incredible book.

To Kill a Mockingbird

1960 • 5,524 Readers • 336 pages 4.2

Why this book?

It started my passion for justice, which (unexpectedly) ultimately led to my career in criminal defense. It's a good reminder of why I do what I do and why we can't ever stop paying attention to the world around us. And how important it is to do the thing they say you shouldn't if it's something you believe in, the majority opinion doesn't matter.
