Fun read, a decades spanning epic with some great set-pieces. A tad too long and sometimes leaning too heavily into the fantasy genre for my taste but Hill managed to keep me invested till the end nonetheless. If you love horror with fantasy elements (like dragons - duh -, trolls, magical artefacts) and epic (horror-)novels like IT you are probably going to enjoy this even more than I did.

Also has a great audiobook-version with some key scenes narrated by a full cast.

Not at all what I was expecting, since many people calling this a „serial killer novel“ - very misleading. It‘s first and foremost a ghost story. Though I usually enjoy supernatural elements in a story, sometimes I just don‘t and this was one of those instances. Still a good read if you are into ghosts and violent deaths - but with heart :)

Some good and even great stories (Tiptoe) but also some that didn‘t connect with me at all

Starts off pretty good, then gets more tedious from page to page.
