Josie Dean has suffered enough. She has been abandoned by her husband Shane Dean. Even though their romance was a fast and life altering event, for her, he probably thought otherwise. Because after their most passionate night in their marriage she awoke to find that her husband was gone.
It's been two years since she's heard from Shane. Called on by Detective Malloy to verify the identity of patient in the hospital found beaten and battered Josie suddenly finds herself in front of the one person she thought she'd never see again. Shane. But now, he is a different person. He's got amnesia.
Although he can't remember anything that happened from the last two years Shane still knows in his heart that he most definitely loved Josie. Reason why he left? He still can't figure it out. He also can't figure out why he has heightened senses and abilities he can't explain like major ass kicking skills and computer wiz abilities. Still, he knows one thing. He is not letting go of Josie again.
People are after Shane and his brothers. The same people who created them. This is their first journey into redemption for what was done to them as children. He and his brothers are out for blood. Who's? The Commander's. He is the man who trained them since “birth” to be ultimate killing machines.
But his first priority is to keep Josie safe. She isn't making it easy but they will both have to see if this time their love is enough to keep them together.
Okay, this book is filled with action packed scenes. But, yeah, I felt really bad for Josie at one end of the story. I mean seriously? How many times can one person be abducted in a day? This girl has BALLS! and I mean it. She may be dainty and “soft” but she can sure protect herself. Shane and his brothers, are the cliche alpha male pack. They protect what is theirs. And now since Shane decides that there is NO way that he is letting Josie go a second time the three brothers are there to protect her. Although, in the end Josie I guess is the one who ends up protecting them. :)
ARC copy given for an honest review.
Audra has been gone for 25 days. Vane has been pushed even more by his now Guardians, those who have taken Audra's place. Each day Vane waits for her return. At night, he is haunted by nightmares, visions, dreams of his loved ones suffering, everything that is important to him is taken. And only one person is responsible for such images. Raiden. There is a war brewing. A massive storm is coming. No can stop it. All they have to do is prepare, to fight to survive. Will the power of four winds be enough? Will Vane and Audra's bond be strong enough in this storm?
This book absolutely blew my mind. The action in it is wonderful, Audra and Vane's relationship and journey gets even more deeper than it was in the first book. We meet new characters like Gus who are absolutely loyal to their future King and straight minded. Then there is Os, the guardian leader, who I am still trying to figure whether he can be trusted or not. Same with the reappearance of Audra's mother, Arella. She says she regrets everything she's done, she blames her gift but seriously? Too much has happened for her to be given absolution. Ofcourse, there is Raiden, the crazed dark leader of the Stormers. He is hell bent on finding a new to take over the groundlings and other windwalkers..
Oh yes, boys and girls! The third book in the Marked Men series is out! And I must say Jay Crownover as always, did NOT disappoint! I absolutely adored Cora and Rome's story! The ups and downs that Rome goes through to find a way back to fit into civilian life and his family life. Still trying to figure out what role he is to play in everyone's lives. All these years he's been in the war while the loved ones he left behind have moved on and no longer seem to rely on him anymore. Also trying to figure out how to get over things eating him up inside, his brother's death, his PTSD and nightmares haunting him. He stumbles upon a bar owned by ex soldier Brite who eventually takes Rome under his wing and tries to help him through all the troubles of trying to fit in to civilian life. Rome is then pulled into a romance with Cora, Marked's shop manager.
Cora has been hurt once by her ex-fiance who she thought was her one and only. Only to find out he was just a cheating slime ball. She is damaged and cautious to giving her heart out to someone who isn't her exact description of Mr. Perfect. But she ends up attacted and pulled towards Rome Archer, just something about him draws her to him. These two go through a wonderful journey at finding love, acceptance and peace in their lives. This book will absolutely not disappoint. If you've read the last two books Rule and Jet you will most definitely enjoy this one ;)
Captain No-Fun and Half Pint 4ever.
p.s:
The epilogue drops a total bomb on what we are going to find out next in the Marked Men series which will be tackling Nate's story.
I will end this with a few of the wonderful quotes I got out of this book:
“Relationships are not tailor-made and people are flawed. You have to work around that and love the other person anyway. Out flaws are what make us unique, and while Rule might not be perfect, he is absolutely perfect for me.” -Shaw “I was tired of trying to guess what others' expectations of me were and had to get my head around the idea that my expectations of myself were enough” -Rome “Some of us found it in the love of a good woman and making a family, others, like Brite, found what was next by helping the most lost of us onto a better path. Whatever your next is kid, it'll find you or you'll find it. Don't beat yourself up about it.” -Torch “He always tells me I color his entire world, but he did the same thing for me. If what I felt for Jimmy is beige, then what I feel for Rome is a damn box of Crayola crayons.” - Cora “Someone had to set you right. I knew I could do it. Love is never perfect, big brother. It's what you make of the imperfections in it that makes the ride worthwhile.” - Remy

Okay. Wow. My mind is blown!
I gave the first Hart Family book a 2 star rating. As the story progresses it only gets better. I am giving this one a very well deserved 4 star rating!
I'm guessing this will be the final book of the series? Since the epilogue basically says it all.
I loved their happy ending, but boy did the whole family go through a wild roller coaster ride to get there. I seriously pity Dillon and especially Spencer for having been born to such an obnoxious, crazy-ass biatch Tally, though at times I felt really bad for her, she was seriously messed up as well.
I absolutely loved the letters parts throughout the story. spoiler7 days apart
Falling in love with this man is the best thing that ever happened to me and I wouldn't change a thing. As Dillon has always said, all of our roads led to each other.
I will say one thing about this book, it is filled with really hot sex scenes, but that's all it's worth. Seriously, I didn't enjoy this book in the least. The writing was very dragging, I found myself just skipping to the conversations and even those weren't that interesting. I seriously disappointed with this one since it's got a pretty good rating on goodreads. Oh well, it just wasn't my cup of tea. I mean, hello, a good sex scene is pretty well off in a book, but seriously?! it was like every other page the characters were just going at it like crazy animals! ugh!
In this book we are introduced the Hart family consisting of Dante, the eldest and father-like figure of the bunch, Damien who is the easy going one and Spencer Cross, their brother from a another mother and the twins Delilah and Dominique. They all grew up with terrrible parents who were sex and drug addicts who never really gave a crap about their children. Dante was forced to put up with the beating and stand in as father figure to them all. But one they he does have in common with his brothers are that they are all against commitment. That is until he meets Sabrina Tyler. She enters his life as an intern in to Hart International (Hart family's company) and from there on their spark is instant. One night after Sabrina's dance competition she and Dante decided to take their relationship to a whole new level. From then on it's ups and downs with Sabrina trying to put up with Dante's commitment issues. It's a ride for the senses filled with hot steamy sex, all out drama, and a lot of dirty talkin'
10/5 MAGNIFICENT STARS!
“It's not fair!” (Ryssa)Because life was ever about fairness.Oh, to be as naive as his sister.”
Ever since the Dark-Hunter series has started when we learn of Acheron readers learn to hate his twin brother, his supposed spoiled abusive and back stabbing brother, Styxx.
In this book we learn that all is not as it seems. Styxx is as much a victim as Acheron is, I would say even more. He is cast out by his family and the kingdom that he is set to rule one day. He is abused by the Atlantean gods and one greek god. He is the humble brother who has been mistaken for a prideful, and undeserving leader, heir and brother.
After you read this book, I assure you, you will no longer hate him. In fact I am most definitely sure you will end up loving him more than Acheron.
This book also tells a tale of a love that was can never be broken. A love so strong that, even after years, centuries and life times of being apart they truly were meant to be. At long last Aricles is reunited with his love Bet'anya Agriosa.
PS : I really hope Ms. Kenyon releases a story for Urian or for Remi. I can't wait for those :)
5/5 Brilliant Stars!
Ookay, I must admit I did skip Upon Midnight and Dream Chaser before I read Acheron's book. (I was just too excited :P )
We finally get the nitty-gritty on the tall dark and handsome leader of the Dark Hunters. I actually ended up rating this while I was reading Part 1 of the book, yeah it was that good!. Anyway...
In a desperate move to save her son from the wrath of Archon, Apollymi the destroyer sends her new born to be born to a Greek queen in the mortal realm before she was imprisoned in Kalosis. Without even knowing she has condemned her beloved youngling to a life of misery, violence and abuse at the hands of the mortals.
Acheron's past is very horrid he was cursed by his sisters the Fates to be the end of all Atlantean gods, his aunt cursed him when he was born with one touch from the Goddess of Desire all beings above the age of puberty craved him. As he was shun from his adoptive royal family and forced to live a life of a sex slave in Atlantis at the young age of 7 by the hands of his Uncle Estes. Ryssa, his sister is the only one who truly loves him, she tries to save him but then ends up condemning him to an even worse sentence.
Later in life he stumbles upon the temple of Artemis and she appears to him trying to intimidate but is unsucessful (because seriously, how can you threat a person who wishes himself dead?) He ends up seducing her and in turn falling in love with her. But later on, Acheron realizes that Artemis really doesn't love him he is only a pet, a toy to him, afraid to be seen with him.
In the end she is the one who truly betrays him and when he dies she ends up resurrecting him, binding him to her as another slave.
Present day: Acheron stumbles upon a Dr. Soteria Kafieri, who claims to have discovered the ancient land of Antlantis. What Acheron doesn't know is that she actually found one of his sister, Ryssa's long lost diaries which may end up exposing his past and his end. Later on in the story their paths collide and he must try to save her from teh Daimons and gods who are after Soteria for the ancient artifact she has found.
This book is Archeron's journey of finding not only love, but self worth as well. It is a brilliant read, most definitely won't disappoint! :)
Wow, just wow.
This book can be summarized in that song Say Something by A great big world. (seriously, on point here)
Tristan and Danika round 2. This book made want to scream at Danika to leave him, then cuddle with him, then leave him again. Tristan's personality is just destructive, he can't cope at all and when he decides to... it's too late.
It's a really quick read but worth it. I loved it and I hope in the end they end up together.
PS:
Dean should die in hell! I despise him.
pps:
sorry, towards the end of the book I got really into it. :)
ARC copy from Netgalley.
I really wanted to like this book, and at times I did. But I found it to be very dragging.
It's a very quick read. I absolutely adored Jase and Chris, Jackson's two sons. As well as the Alexander family, they reminded me of the Chase series books.
The books follows Ridley, who is the shy good hearted girl next door type as compared to her traveling supermodel twin Raina. Ridley, is trying to escape something that is haunting her back in Florida she ends up at her sister's doorstep in Virginia but finds out that her sister is at a photo shoot in Singapore. She then falls into the arms of next door hunky music producer neighbor Jackson Alexander, who has just lost his wife to a terrible accident and is now a single father raising two boys. The story follows their instant chemistry and their journey to gaining both their trusts and surviving whatever is haunting Ridley.
5/5 mother effin twitchin' stars!
Warning: If you are looking for a good happy love story where heroine and hero end up dancing, kissing and whisperin' sweet nothings to each other at the end of the book I don't recommend this book for you.
If you are looking for a story that is real, raw and full of drama. This book is the book for you.
Both of the main characters have grown up in a very hostile environment. Twitch's being more so than Lexi's. They are both strong willed and intelligent people and have made it on their own later in life.
The story is all about how Twitch overcomes his demons with the help of Lexi. He tries so hard to not love her but it is inevitable the two end up in a very hot and heavy romance full of drugs, guns and a black leather belt.
SPOILER:
At the age of 8, Twitch is thoroughly abused by his father. He ends up outside his house in a shed where Lexi, age 6, stumbles upon him and offers him a helping hand to mend his wounds. After their conversation they never see each other again... not until after 20 years. Lexi is fully aware that someone is watching her. One night while getting something in her car someone approaches her from behind and tries to assault her. Luckily for her, her stalker is there, watching. When things start to get real tough between her and her attacker, her hooded knight comes to the rescue and beats the ever lovin' shit out of her attacker. After which he introduces himself as Twitch. Little does Lexi know she has already met him once before.
P.S The ending will knock your socks off.
Anotehr great one from Belle Aurora. :)
5 MAGNIFICENT STARS!
The story starts out with our heroine Willow at a young age awaiting her new stepmother along with her father. Little does she know her new mother has a “present” for her, a bundle of step brothers and sisters. Her new mother isn't what she's always wished for, she is vile and runs the household with greed and no regard for Willow's welfare as well as her father's. She has outcast Willow to serve as a nursemaid to her step brothers and sisters. Her father is forced to hail to every whim of the new lady of the house and so forgets his beloved daughter. After almost 20 years, we stumble upon Sir Barron who is back from the war in France and has been hiding in his study to relieve himself of the wrath/pranks of his 10 relentless children. He sends out his right hand man to search for a suitable wife and lady for the household to help him deal with his band of merry tots. His squire comes back with the lovely Willow.. from then on the story goes about on how the children take to Willow. How she wins the hearts of both the master and his subjects in the castle. In an epic battle within the castle involving wooden arrows carved from tables in the lady's quarters, secret passages in the castle, bowls of fig pudding, singed mustaches and beards, a squealing pig, 10 tiny soldiers, a warlord, an army of full grown soldiers.
Only when the flames shot higher could he make out the gentle swells filling out her breeches and tunic and the inky cap of curls that clung to her head. Lady Willow gazed boldly up at the window, making no attempt to hide the bow in her hand. or the challenging jut of her jaw. Hollis shook his head torn between shock and amusement. “You'd best devise a new battle plan, my lord. For it appears your lady has decided to join the game.” Bannor flexed his powerful hands on the window sill. “This is no game, my friend” He swung around, his eyes gleaming with a raw excitement Hollis hadn't seen since King Edwards signed the treaty with the French. “This I understand. This is war”
2.5 Stars
hmmm.. I was really looking forward to this book but I was a bit disappointed.
Seriously what happened to Woods and Della?? I found pretty needy, clingy and annoying at times. hmmph. :( Oh well, I still love the gang of Rosemary :) can't wait for the next stories hopefuly Harlow and Grant get a book! :D
LOVED IT. 5/5 STARS!
“Most importantly - what I would stress the very most - is that love doesn't solve a goddamn thing. Love doesn't erase a broken heart, and it sure as fuck doesn't change people. But no matter how old, how flimsy, how frayed the rope of love is, it does keep you tethered to the people you love. And I was forever tied to Cage “
In this book we follow the unrequited love story of Tegan and Cage. Tegan is now all grown up and moved to San Francisco living her life as a tatted up,loud mouth, hot tempered and pierced hippie and still trying to forget about her long lost love that is Cage West, prince of Hells Horsemen. Cage is still stuck in Montana livin' the man whore biker life, hanging at the club, drinking and sexing it up with all the club whores around. But when Tegan comes back to Montana to deal with her mother being shot by one of the Hells Horsemen's crazy wives, the two end up clashing in a all out verbal, physical and emotional brawl. The book tells their story on how they find they bearings and deal with all the drama that comes with the Hells Horsemen's lives as well as coming to terms with their past mistakes cough Cage cough and moving on with their possible future.
Another wonderful story that you will encounter which I actually preferred is the story of Ellie and Horseman Dirty/Michael.
5/5 STARS PEOPLE!!!! THIS BOOK IS BAT SHIT CRAZY FUNNY!
I missed all the characters especially the now, Uncle Drew. A new character who is Tyler, Gavin's BFF is most definitely a wonderful addition to the crew. All funny with no filter just like the rest of them! :)
Seriously RECOMMEND this book if you are looking for the funnies and the feels
one of my favourite scenes from the book asides the the Tyler and Siri conversations.. (click spoiler link)
...can we please change the subject? I really don't like discussing my Bronie status with someone who doesn't live the lifestyle" Tyler complains"Did you just say Bronie? What the fuck is that? Is it some sort of club or something?""Not that you care, but yes. Bronies are a select group of men who appreciate the beauty and personalities of My Little Ponies" Tyler explains "And by appreciate you mean jerk off to" I say with a laugh"IT'S NOT LIKE THAT!" p.s: even funnier, BRONIES are real! hahahahaha!
