Honestly this book had me going through a lot of emotions. At one point I was getting annoyed with both Travis and Jacob (mostly Jacob) and the storyline itself. This might have been a me thing but I found the storyline to be weak, for a romance novel I wanted to see why two characters to be together longer. When I reached the 90% marked I felt like the HEA that was going to happen shouldn't have happened because in my opinion it wasn't earned by Jacob and the storyline itself felt rushed towards the end.
Thank you to the publisher for giving this arc via Netgalley. All opinions are my own.
like both Kip and Scott as characters and together but their relationship moved too quick. So many things happened and they haven't even been dating for that long.
Could have been rated higher for me if the story didn't move too fast. I wish we got to see the characters yearning for each other or chasing each other. Everything felt rushed.
This book was such an enjoyable read, it hooked me right from the start! I loved that it was set during the Winter Olympics and that the author included a good amount of on ice scenes. The two main characters were super different but both really likable, which made their dynamic fun to read.
That said, here's why I ended up giving it 3.5 stars instead of something higher, even though I did enjoy it.
First, the relationship felt a little rushed. There wasn't enough time for their connection to grow naturally to the level we saw by the end. I think if the author had added a small time skip showing them together after the Olympics for longer it would've made the ending feel more believable.
And then there's Connor's dad, like come on. No GM has that much power in the NHL, even if they're a former player.
Overall, I still really liked the book! If you're into rivals to lovers, don't mind a bit of insta chemistry, and just want a fun read without thinking too hard about the details, you'll probably enjoy this one too.
I'm definitely planning to read the next book by this author!
Thanks to Storm Publishing for providing me with this ARC at Netgalley.
I wish we had more scenes of Jordy and Rowan alone together. While I didn't mind Kaira's presence, she fit naturally into the story considering what type of book this was. It still felt like we needed more moments between Jordy and Rowan to truly see them fall in love.
The ending felt rushed, but the book had the right amount of spice and was overall an enjoyable read.
his was enjoyable read. This was my first adult star x hockey star so I wasn't sure what I was expected. I really like how the storyline went and how the relationship between Devin and Jarrod developed.
This was definitely a smutty book but I think the smut wasn't bad at all and didn't overtake the plot of the story.
Might be SPOILER
I like how Devin had his own ambitions and didn't just give up on what he loves in order to make sure his relationship with Jarrod isn't scandalous. I like the fact Jarrod didn't make him give up his job.
There's so much I loved about the book. The way the Patrick and Fallon meet and grow closer felt natural and heartfelt. Their relationship was realistic and emotionally satisfying, you could really feel how much they cared for one another. The ending tied everything together beautifully, and the epilogue added an extra layer of warmth that made the story even more rewarding.
If you enjoy second chance romance or the boss/employee dynamic, this book is definitely worth checking out. While it wasn't a perfect read, it was still incredibly enjoyable. The characters were genuinely likable, and their actions made sense within the context of their growth and circumstances.
I recommend to readers who enjoy character driven romance with emotional depth and believable chemistry.
Thank You to Happily Booked PR & the author for giving me this ARC to read. All opinions are my own.
This was such an enjoyable read. After being on a reality show kick, this book was released at a perfect time for me to read. I love how funny the Blake and Liam were. The way the book was structured made it fun and quick to read, love the interview snippets being added to most of the chapters. I really liked how we saw their relationship development in such a unique or love is blind type of way.
I definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys Love is Blind, Married at First Sight and Love Island. This book definitely has the element of all those reality dating show. This book didn't have a lot of spice but I think the spice level was reasonable and made sense to the story.
By no means this was a perfect book but it definitely was entertaining and funny and a quick read.
I'm excited to read the next book in this series, especially after being introduced to both characters in this book and how private they were about what happened between them.
It was a decent book. Many times I felt like different storylines were just being throw at us randomly. Crew and Knox relationship dynamic was interesting to me because I felt like they had sexual chemistry. I wished we saw more romantic scenes between them that shows how they went from two people being attractive to each other and the development of their relationship more slowly.
The pacing of this book was okay, moved a little too fast and some of the storylines I really dislike. One of the things I really disliked about this book was the way things ended, I understand they are writing a second book as part of this series but still the ending sucks.
I recommend this book to people who enjoys teammates to lovers and books with characters who are parents or are going to be potential parents.
I guess this review will be a rant review. This book was very fast paced, I finished it in one day. First the positive, I like that we got to see all the different characters pov and love that they maintained their friend groups. I hate when in books the characters don't have friends or a life outside their relationship.
Here comes the rant, I hated the storyline. Point blank period. Everything felt convenient, from the setup of one of their child hood friend's brother being a police officer and to the dad being a shitty human being of a pastor. I literally saw the pdf file storyline coming from a mile away. Like come on be more creative than that.
I don't know if it's because I read Crew first is that why I got annoyed that Crew brother played a role in resolving an issue.
I feel these three are characters who I believe will break up in a few months or in about a year.
Lmao I definitely would not want to be in a business with Beck. What do you mean you turn your brain off cause the guy giving the presentation is hot 😂😭
In all honesty I enjoyed the book for what it was and like the characters together. Even though this book had some serious topics in it, I keep laughing multiple times when I was reading.
This was enjoyable, I wished more time was spent with the characters being in present day. I love all the representation that was in the book and it looks like they were done right, wasn't just there to say they had different representation in their books.
I love the way the author deal with the major conflict of the book. In my opinion, it was done well.
I really enjoyed this story. Everything about just worked perfectly. I love how the story was structured, it added more charms to it. The spice was done pretty well, just the right amount.
I love both Ryan and Lars, their pov was done well. It felt like different characters which sometimes many books doesn't do well when it comes to dual pov. I love the progression of their relationship and who they are as people. Ryan is definitely book boyfriend material.
I think the author did a great job at handling the family situation and how it was resolved.
This was my first book I ever read from this author so I didn't know what to expect. This was one an interesting read. I enjoyed the story and love the characters.
started out reading this one and staying up until 5 am since I didn't want to put it down (thank god I had a day off that day). And wanting to dnf it pages later. I felt like the pacing of this book was going way too fast for my liking. I wished the author did more showing instead of telling. I wished we saw more of their relationship development not just timestamps of them being together.
This story felt like a slice for life which is okay in a fanfic or a short story setting where it's featuring what happens after the main story ends, not okay as the main story.
I really like the two characters especially Dev, with the way he treated Brody and Brody's mom. He's definitely a book boyfriend. I really like how the author didn't just act like some of the issues the characters face is magically going to change. The way they handled it was well done and very realistic especially when it came to the family aspect.
I definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys football or sports romance in general with spice.
I will be going back to read book 1 and continuing the rest of the series. I can't wait for the next book.
I definitely recommend anyone who is planning on reading this book to check out the content warning. The spice level was medium, there wasn't that many spice scene in this book.
This was my first book by this author so I didn't know what to expect. I enjoyed the story and characters. I love both Nate and Zach and the friendship they had before becoming lovers.
I didn't mind the writing style, didn't come with any expectation with how the writing was going to be so I was a little thrown off by it but I think it was beautifully executed.
I love the representation that was included in this book, can't say rather the representation was done correctly but from an outsider perspective it looks like it was done correctly.
One of the reason why I didn't give this book a 4 start is due to the miscommunication trope, I hate that in books especially when it's friends to lovers. Also another reason is I didn't think the mental health aspect was well done (talking about the problem and going to therapy). I just feel like addiction, anxiety, etc could have been done better.
A decent start to the series. This could have been better if things were better explore. This was a very fast paced book and page turner which made my rating go from a 3 to a 3.5. I love how supportive Kai and Alex friends were. I love in books where the friends go hard for each other and are like family.
The romance between Kai and Alex was insta love but I didn't hate it, I think it added to the story and made the book better.
I'm excited to continue this series to see how it goes and what happens to Lotus Academy.
This was a quick, fast paced book and page turner which made me give it a 3.5 instead of 3 stars. The relationship between the three of them moving way too quickly in my opinion but it is what it is. Even though not much happened in the book when it came to plot but whenever anything major happened I was here for it and thought it was resolved perfectly.
Since this book was written by one author and it Levi, Barrett and Stetson pov in each chapter separately, I was worry that all three characters would sounds the same which didn't happen. I love that we can distinguish between all the three characters and didn't feel like the same person.
I love how their relationship was written, how the three of them loved each other and accepted each other when it came to preference.
I definitely recommend this book to people who enjoys insta love storyline, and MMM romance with lots of spice.
I can't wait for the next book in the series.
This was an enjoyable and fun read. Rylan is such a great book boyfriend, I love how he listened to Hayes and takes into consideration everything that Hayes has been through. I love how they were both able to talk openly with each other about deep things.
I can't wait for the next book in the series. I love all Hayes friends and hoping we get someone paired with Rylan friend Mads as I love him every time he was around.
I recommend this book to anyone looking with a spicy hockey romance where they go from friend with benefits to lovers. I definitely recommend checking trigger warnings as it deals with things that other people might find triggering or don't want to read about.
I really enjoyed this manga. I'm a big Godzilla fan so this was right of my lane. I can see where the spirit of Godzilla and Godzilla Minus One came to play in this manga. If I were to say that I can even see some similarities between this manga and the Godzilla tv show ‘Monarch King of Monsters' especially in the beginning.
The graphic was good and the text was easy to read and follow. I love that we are getting a different take from this type of story when it comes to monsters. I love the different designs of the Kaiju, love how they weren't all the same shape and size.
My main criticism for this manga is that it's the first book of the series they could have spent more time introductions the setting and characters so that way the readers would feel some type of connection with the main protagonist and the people who are getting impacted by these monsters.
Looking forward to see how this series progresses.
I recommend this to fan of Godzilla or anyone who loves anything to do with monsters and them teaming up with humans to fight against other monsters.
Thank you to the publisher for giving this Arc at NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. Mad Dog and Holky were perfect for each other, and while not much happened plot-wise, the character driven focus worked well for me. Despite being over 300 pages, the story moved at a fast pace.
I loved how comfortable and trusting the characters were with each other, openly sharing their backstories and vulnerabilities. Their teammates and friends were also lovable and funny, every interaction was a delight. I have to admit, Riley completely stole my heart every time he appeared.
This was a great addition to the series, and I'm excited for the next book.
The only reason it wasn't a 4.5 or 5 star read for me was due to one scene that made me uncomfortable. It felt like a violation of a character's privacy and made another character come across as creepy and perverted. I wish it had been left out.
That said, I'd still recommend this to fans of hockey or sports romances, especially those who enjoy spice in their books and a bi-awakening storyline with very low angst.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was an enjoyable read. This book with serious topics and how it impacted the character life. I love how the author deal with the trauma that Isak has and didn't make the trauma magically disappear.
I love how Emil was portrayed and how sweet and down so bad for Isak.
Definitely recommend this to anyone looking to get into omega verse or enjoy omega verse. This book had very low spice in my opinion and the spice was very meaningful to the story.
This was such an easy quick read even though it was around 300 pages. I couldn't put it down, the story was interesting and the characters were likable. I love how we got some good character development from both Jace and Marcus. This is such an interesting world, I'm looking forward to see how everything that we have learned about what's happening between the Fae, witches, vampires and werewolves gets solved.
I recommend this to anyone who doesn't mind omega verse, willing to keep an open mind and like lots of spice in their story.
