See allMy copy of this book is literally tear stained. The way the war is described in such perfect, painful, detail both kills and amazes me. The way Suzanne can perfectly capture the terrors of war and death in just words is so heartbreaking and mind blowing and I genuinely cried so much I have a headache. That last chapter and the epilogue was a perfect end to the trilogy though and it makes me so excited to start the prequels.
The first few chapters before the games start felt a bit dragged for me, I understand the need for the setup and some backstory but a few times I just felt like I was reading someone ramble with no end. Everything else about this was really good though and I'm suprised I never read it sooner as someone who watched the movies as they were coming out. Overall, I liked it more than the movie, especially when things picked up, and I throughly enjoyed getting to see Katniss's internal monologue.
