See allI don't believe the quality of the final book improves the quality of the trilogy overall, but I did enjoy this book way more than the first two. I actually grew to like Mal after hating him in the first two books, and the action and pacing was so much more engaging and exciting this time around. The stakes felt a lot higher and I was satisfied with the ending.
The prose was beautiful and it did paint an image of the cities very well in my head but it reached a point where I was bored of the repetitiveness. It was formulaic and felt like a slog for me to get through since I felt like I was getting nothing out of it. I still don't even really understand what the book was about because despite the good writing, there was almost no substance behind it.
