

I wish someone had told me this was basically the result of a ChatGPT prompt that goes something like: "Write me an adult novel that mixes A Simple Favor and Gone Girl but also reads like it was written for children. There should be a plot twist at the end, but make sure it's not interesting or creative."
Why they're turning this into a series is beyond me, but I guess that's on par for TV shows these days.
