3.5 stars
Entertaining story, perfect length honestly. Haven't read much of Gaiman before, want to make time to check out some of his longer works.
Actual rating: 4.5 stars
Was even more chilling the second time around, although I'm not quite sure if it still deserves five stars.
This is one of those books that doesn't get old, not even after the second reading. Also, it is one of those books that improves upon the second time, and the themes and messages being sent are more clear.
Edit #1 (4/8/14)
I finally own this book. I have so much happiness right now it's ridiculous. Now I just need to read the second book, which I may have been putting off since it came out in 2012.
Which is possible.
Cover reaction:
Least favorite of the three (second one is my favorite), but I still love it!

Just finished re-reading it today!
I read this before I ever read Harry Potter (I know, I know. . . .) and I definitely don't enjoy it as much anymore, since the events that happen and how the “fugitive” aspect of the plot was wrapped up was done horribly, and it really isn't a 5 star read. However, I think that for fans of Greek mythology, and those who enjoy light reads with adventure in them, with plenty of action, the reader looking for an average, ordiarny adventure read won't be dissapointed.
I was looking at my bookshelf recently, and I began wondering why these were even guilty pleasure reads, even though I just realized I liked nothing about them. I'll admit, the mystery in the first two were enough for me, but it's not enough. I'll finish the series, but I'll now be forever wondering what I ever saw in them to make me love them - ever.
EDIT #11: I'm actually holding this beautifully book in my hands. I seriously don't know how I didn't spontaneously combust right then and there when the Customer Service lady handed it to me. <3 I'm not allowing myself to read it though until I finish NaNoWriMo. Just a little incentive to get writing.EDIT #10: OHMAGAWD. NOT EVEN 4 1/2 HOURS LEFT. EDIT #9: 9 MORE DAYS PEOPLE. 9. EDIT #8: 24 MORE DAYS. 24 MORE DAYS OF TORTURE. Laini, I am begging you. Let this book be the exception, and not be another case of trilogy-should-only-have-been-a-duology-itis. Or worse, another case of should've-been-a-stand-alone-itis. After [b:UnWholly 13545075 UnWholly (Unwind, #2) Neal Shusterman http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1337871062s/13545075.jpg 13096117] I'm not sure I can handle the dissapointing sequels anymore.EDIT #7: Completely disregard all I said in Edit #4, it's now 528 pages. Holy fuck, that book is huge. EDIT #6: The only time I've ever loved a cover that doesn't match the first one that much. IT'S SO AWESOME! IT'S AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!1111!!11!!!!!! EDIT #5: 26 LIKES?! Well, this is kind of awkward. Um, thanks for reading this really, really ranty pre-review.EDIT #4: Only 304 pages?! You've got to be kidding me! That is NOT going to satisfy my craving for Laini Taylor's gorgeous writing! NO NO NO NO NO! PoutsEDIT #3: Eye twitches They moved it back to November 6th. November has never been so far away.EDIT #2: IT HAS A (small) SUMMARY! AND A RELEASE DATE!!!!!!!!! Ugh, when will they show the cover?!EDIT: YES YES YES YES YES! THE TITLE IS OUT, AND IT'S SO PERFECT! DAYS OF BLOOD AND STARLIGHT! I'm going to die before this book is released.Dear Laini Taylor,The ONE AND ONLY THING I want for sure from this sequel is for you to NOT:Make a love triangle. I don't want one, the story doesn't need one, so just steer clear of it!
Thank God! September 6th of THIS YEAR is far more manageable than next year! That synopsis? Hell yeah, I'm excited!
Have a feeling that this one is going to be epic, like the other four, so I think I'm going to hold off on it for a little longer.
Offically on my radar of “Lost Interest.” Hasn't made it completely, but after reading a review specifically NOT reccomending it for people who don't enjoy historical fiction, that catches my attention, since I am a self-proclaimed disliker of the genre.
