So incredibly beautiful it hurts. Lots of tears and feelings going on.

White men shouldn't write about issues they can't relate to. I respect that O'Dell had some historical knowledge and meant no foul intent. However, it comes of as white savior-y and holds a lot of inaccuracies. It's also wrong that white people are still profiting off of this book. That is all.

Quinn has a bit of a savior complex and I think his activism is a little performative. However, it is a beautiful exploration of both sides given the context.

Important social issues. Short read.

Made me cry. Addresses important modern Indigenous struggles.

made me bawl my eyes out. Important message on colonization and brutality that occurs in Residential Schools.

Spooky. Gave me chills. Only negative is how complex the vocabulary is.

The only book that has ever made me feel sick due to the gore (this is a good thing)! I've never read a book that has made me feel this way. Only downside was that since it is written originally in a different language, it doesn't translate well in certain parts.
