I have mixed feelings about this book. I did quite enjoy it, but I'm not really sure what the point of it was. The main story arc was clear, but I feel like it didn't really take up much of the book—it was just sprinkled throughout the novel. Some of the characters were clearly fleshed out and developed, Jesse and Willie were my obvious favorites. However, there were some other characters that I couldn't connect to at all, Charlie being an example. The book wasn't really plot driven and that made it a slow read. I felt like I was just reading about Josie's life and that there wasn't much of a point to it.
I went into this book thinking it'd be a typical YA novel, it definitely wasn't. This book was amazing! I really liked the unique plot and the way the story was written. The romance was also interesting since I wouldn't say it was a love triangle of the typical nature, as the two guys weren't really competing with each other for Addie's affections! All I have to say is Trevor is sheer perfection. <3
Definitely wasn't as exciting as the first one, but it was still rather good.
Btw, does this mean there's no more Alistair in the next book? I was not satisfied when his minor appearance in the novel. I'm hoping Rory makes a brief stop at Wexford and visits him in the third book, but I don't see that happening. He's my favorite character though, I love him!
What? I just can't. This was so not the ending I was waiting for.
I'm leaning more toward 2.5 stars at this point...
WHAT WAS THE ENDING!? WHAT THE HECKKKKKKKK. WHY WAS NOTHING ANSWERED!!? What happens to Fred? Did the bomb even work!?What about Hana? What about Julian? What about EVERYTHING!?!You can't just give us Grace and then end it! Do Alex and Lena even really get back together!? For all we know, everyone could be killed. WHAT IS THIS. So disappointing. Ugh. You could have at least added like two more chapters to give us a somewhat closed ending. GAH. More insight into Alex's mind would have also been appreciated!
My rating is edging closer to 3.5 stars.
I really liked the concept of the book and it was quite entertaining. I just don't know how I feel about the ending, everything just kind of gets thrown at you. Apparently there is a sequel, but I feel like the book doesn't really end in a way where a sequel is appropriate even though there are SO many unanswered questions.
