Im still debating between giving the book 2.5 stars (what I think it disserves) and 3 stars (trying to correct I for the possible bias of being underwhelmed

I admit I came to this interview blind, knowing of course who Major was and the events that occured at Stonewall but not sure wether I was going to be reading about her biography and queer history or a more reflective piece (what I was hoping for)

In the end it turned out to be a mixture of both, and neither one was well executed in my opinion. I believe that for the queer history element there are better options out there. It sits in a really weird middle place where its too messy to be a good introduction but adds nothing new if you have read a bit on the topic. Same goes for the biography which is also messy, I would've benefited just the same by reading the 30ish page introduction. On the other hand, I feel the reflections weren't really interesting or fresh.

I appreciate the book and I will always stan for queer media and of course representation of queer icons i don't think this is the way though.
