this is hard to rate. i loved the couples, Elle Kennedy is at her best with fake dating. but I felt like conors conflict was stupid and I would rather the later half of the book be focused on Taylor's conflict.

i really liked the characters but some lines were so cringy and so was that third act drama

not my favorite hunger games boom. I thought the  beginning was really choppy  pace wise and the dialogue seemed kind of stiff. the ending did get me though :(

maybe my favorite book?? I really enjoyed the progression of friends to dating. would have liked a deeper dive into hunters background though

I LOVED THIS SO MUCH!!!

Usually I am skeptical about going into a new fantasy world because I take a long to get used to be and imagine everything, but I got into this book so fast. By the 3rd chapter I was hooked! Even though I didn't read the Grisha trilogy first, this world was still super easy to dive into.

I loved the pacing and the twists and turns. Usually authors like to hold off on giving you all of the character's backstory to add suspense, but I loved the pacing of how Bardugo gives it to us. When Wylan's backstory was revealed, I was so shocked! It is such a weird but compelling plot twist.

Can't wait to start the next book!

lowkey this is what funny story wanted to be: 2 friends who fall in love while also falling in love with the city they live in through a series of hangouts.

the ending was kind of crazy (derogatory)

so like did she only know travel scribing in the end??? I felt like the school aspect of it was unnecessary.  she was in class for like 0.2% of the book and only served to tell us the magic system. also the friendships came out of nowhere imo.

mmc had no personality and a lot of the conflict left so middle-school

Beach Read is still my favorite Emily Henry. I really liked the characters, especially Miles. I felt like his description and his flaws and insecurities just felt so real and relatable. I felt like there wasn't enough hashing out of the sister conflict point and I didn't care much for the final conflict at the end, but overall it was still enjoyable. I loved the kind of found family aspect at the end.

I loved this one more than the 1st. I really got into the pairing this time!

The spice was not as good as the second one but I really liked their dynamic. Besides that, this book was not as good as the second. That baseball stuff was so cringy. The whole conflict of stepsiblings is ridiculous. They would hate to see Gossip Girl coming.
