~2.75. See review of Sanctuary which is really a somewhat essential continuation of this book.

Sanctuary and Nomad really go together so this review applies to each. The plot of nomad around the celestial event was enjoyable. The Subplot of the family drama seemed REALLY out of place in book one and almost caused me to put it down. The subplot was a big part of Sanctuary, which is why I say they belong together. Overall I'd give the books~2.75. They were quick, easy reads and fairly enjoyable, but I certainly didn't love them. I will give other books by Mather a try.

I don't think I've ever read a Jasper Fforde book I didn't enjoy..

Great read about an interesting person I would not want to work for. If you liked Isaacson's Steve Jobs book you will probably enjoy this.

If I could do fractional stars, this would probably be 2.75. Enjoyable, but the writing of some of the characters just seemed off. I'll probably give the next book in the series a shot.

Quick read. Percy Jackson with Norse gods.

So, I pretty much write a review but this book made me want to. A better title might have been “God, Guns and Country.” I don't think a single paragraph went by without touching on those themes.

Quick easy read that was entertaining...

I'd forgotten I read this book until I got a ways into it, and didn't remember enough to make me stop. Glad I re-read it. Not my favorite Matt Ruff book, but a solid read.
