IMHO, movie was way better, sorry Stephen.

To be honest the book was way better than the movie.

3.5 stars. A good suspense thriller.

I felt little bored with demon stuff, but the ending chapters were good, so look forward to next book.

A good start for the series

Interested in both Phoenix bloodline and dual sword practice, it was a good start, let's see what happens next!. Also, people who likes wuxia will enjoy this

Holy lol, the next day I wrote this review I got Covid, recovering well.


My 1000th book. It took me 4 and half year reading to reach this level. It reduced so much of my pressure (the pressure of meeting deadlines in software ya know). I will be reading forever. And the reason I choose this book as my 1000 because this is a special one. It's a great continuation of series. Eagerly waiting for next!

Freaking epic

Adrenaline rush, bloody pure adrenalin rush. Seriously, started slow but once the action started it was nonstop. Loved it and loved some of the concepts. Got to know many things. There are some reviews about authors comments or something. But, as an Indian I don't care about US politics lol. So this was fun and if the series will be like this, I will read it.

Holy shit, that was awesome, why didn't I read this way earlier, this was on epic proportions. Read it people, you will love it.

I love to read as many as urban fantasy books I can, unfortunately I dont connect well with some books, because they lack maturity in characters. And, this book is very good surprise for me. Lindsay writing is on par with Ilona (Kate Daniel's, one of my favorite UF). I connected very well to this book for following reasons:
1. Fantastic MC
2. Most importantly Vivienne's Narration. Bloody Amazing.

A refreshing urban fantasy where main lead isn't OP.. eager to listen to next one.

What a bloody concept. Too slow at start but at the end it was too awesome.

This was a gem of a thriller. I am glad I have read this that too in the time of a real pandemic. It's eye opening how much CDC puts the work and how beauracracy makes their lives hard.

What a brilliant ending thoroughly satisfying!!!!

Bloody entertaining

Well, it was lot of fun. It had its down moments but overall it's a very entertaining as well as heartbreaking. The things they did to humans are horrible and I hope Carl will get justice for us humans. Goddammit, Donut!!!!!!

Lacks pace

Could have been better, the pace is very slow, the story however is fantastic and the concept of machina core is brilliant, will read next one for sure. But I ask author to improve the pace a little bit

Slice of life, best stuff ever

This was one heck of an urban fantasy

Very well written, engaging urban fantasy thriller. Loved the MC's apolitical no-nonsense way of talk and doing things. And I freaking love the author for his dare.

This was fun

Slow at first but picks up the pace after 300+page.

A great concept. Would have worked wonders if author edited this to make sure to novel size instead of web serial.

An interesting read

What if the story is true instead of fiction. God the thought is horrendous as well as exciting. Now on to the next one!!!

Surprisingly good one

Post apocalyptic stuff always have a bad impression on me except for some of the good books like this. This is one is interesting to read I'm looking forward to seeing the future of the series
