Everything felt really disjointed in its pacing, and I felt nothing for the dynamic between Aoki and Mizuno. It just feels like their chemistry comes out of nowhere because of how spliced this story feels. Also, any conversation about weight felt weird. Not offensive, but definitely not positive. Kind of like the way a sitcom would cover a woman gaining weight.
In fact, this whole story just reads like a sitcom with a laugh track that you can definitely hear, but you're just sitting there because it's not funny. It's not like the jokes are horrible or rude; it's just not funny.

It has some problems, but compared to the last two books I read and Muno's own Shuuden Elegy, this was cute. I loved most of it and really loved both Akashi and Yagi. Would've loved an extra chapter or two of them being a couple, since most of the story was about them sorting out what they currently had.
Something like a double date with Nomura and his girlfriend would've killed me in exactly the way I wanted.
Pausing, but so far it feels like a 3.5
I like Ikki, Nakanishi's pretty cool... and that's it. I didn't like being in Karakida's head. The affection he showed to Ikki was cute and all but the way his thoughts read, the way he talked about himself and how well he could read people was so Light Yagami coded and pretentious sounding. It was annoying and I'm a Light Yagami enjoyer.
Also, from the beginning to page 68, they barely touched on Ikki's asexuality. While in his POV he does talk about how he feels but it just wasn't enough. I hope it gets officially picked up or someone else retranslates this because I want to keep reading this.
