I really enjoy where they are taking the story within this arc. There are time I wish they would focus more on one aspect of the mixed story rather than stringing them all together.
I am really engaged in the political subplot with the Imperial Remnant and the Galactic Alliance, and want additional books devoted to it.
I really enjoy Chuck's writing style. This collection of short stories is a great showcase of the different (crazy) ideas that runs through this mans mind. I have followed his blog, TerribleMinds, for over a year now, and I was very excited to see how his twisted and humorous writing style would turn to fiction. I was surprised (pleasantly so) that the tone of his fiction is more down to earth, this in no way detracts from the style; nor from the unusual and out of this world nature (some times literally) of the stories.
This is one of the books I am reading to get in the mood for my Eclipse Phase Game.
This is a very interesting Sci-Fi book. I could not really get into the First Culture book “consider phlebas” but after finishing this one I think I am going to have to give it another try.
The interesting aspect of the book is that it describes futuristic games in a way that I don't quite get a real sense of what is going on, however I get enough of the feeling for the games played that I understand it in general terms.
Very interesting for a gamer of any caliber.
I am a Warcraft lore fan. I have enjoyed the stories told in this world since Warcraft 2. This book was written for fans like me.
It is very well detailed, and follows the journey of Arthas, his fall, and his rise in Darkness. The book ties elements of Warcraft 3 and Frozen Throne, but adding very detailed context to the actions and dialog of characters from those games.
This book also does a great job of adding in additional media tie-ins (trans-media) to the ongoing comic series, and of course World of Warcraft itself.
