A surprisingly nuanced tie-in to multiple parts of the JoJo universe. The author considered things about the characters even I didn't in some cases! Worth a read, especially if your favorite character was always Fugo. 🍓

A revenge porn-style story. I kept reading for the unusual artwork, and did enjoy the clear effort put into giving characters backstory and quasi-believable motivation. However, the ending was very dissatisfying. Worth a read if you like the genre, but not worth going out of your way for, and definitely not recommended as a first read in this style.

While the blurb made it sound like a Crichton-esque dive into a plausible branch of near-term science, the book was unfortunately mostly tell-not-show in its writing. The translation was excellent, but parts of the book were difficult to follow, and more often than not daring escapes were handwaved in the narrative and exposition-dumped via dialog afterwards. Also, perhaps most unfortunately of all, the cover gives away the "twist."

A brief dive into mycology and the questionable ethics scientific experimentation invites. It was all right, but too short to get attached to anyone, and too high level to satisfy my itch for creepy sci-fi.
