I thoroughly enjoyed reading this - the bits about being on Earth feel very reminiscent of Ottessa Moshfegh’s My Year of Rest and Relaxation (with less chaos) and I found myself captivated by this experiment-gone-wrong. I do wish the ending had been a bit less open-ended, as it comes off a bit dissatisfying.
