The deeper the lore gets the more I fck with this series. LFG

This was cheesy as hell. I loved it. I'm not sure it has reread qualities but the tropes were troping. It's fade to black mystery/romance and all the English manor Christmas vibes. Definitely recommend for the holidays.

This was running away simulator and all the lore dumped in the last 20%. The reveal was mid.

I had a preconceived idea of how reading this book would go. To Ali Hazelwood‘s credit I had a great time!

Yes, her FMC is really quirky and very self-aware. I did relate to Elsie, but I'm not as calculated or intentional as Elsie when it comes to people-pleasing.

The smut was more than I'm used to (I think 3 full chapters) but none of it happens until the latter quarter of the book. It's definitely slow burn.

It was fast paced and easy and silly and romantic. I like her writing and her characters. 8/10 would recommend.

I obviously read this pretty quickly. It's a short read. It came highly recommended from two bookstagram readers. I loved the story. I loved the setting. I guessed the ending but there were still interesting plot points and a satisfying reveal towards the end. Very beautiful writing (I highlighted quite a few quotes in the Kindle app.) Highly recommend. A very touching story.
