This book was just, fine.
I read this for The Amazing Readathon for the holiday prompt and I think it’s does its job at telling a story of friendship and Halloween spirt across different periods of the world.
But honestly it’s very basic, I didn’t truly click with any of the characters. It felt like it was dragging a bit. The part about witches was wildly inaccurate.
But the vibes were fun and got me into a Halloween spirit. I listened to a full cast audiobook edition and I think it definitely helped with setting the tone with its music, sound effects. But It’s insanely hard to pick out any of the boys in particular because the voices are so similar in this edition. Maybe I need to see if I can find a book with the illustrations because I’m a curious fella and I hear that’s where it’s at
