.75 for being a choose your own adventure at the end. idk how i really felt. i think i liked it? sort of? it spoke to me with the talk of suicide and some of the metaphors were really nice and stood out to me. it's clear this author is talented. but other than that, it was really wordy and hard to get through at moments, not with triggers but with overwhelming words that convolute the story a bit. not terrible though! and is definitely a mindfuck! i would still recommend if you're interested in the premise.
better then the other! i think i liked this because it was more focused on problems that I've dealt with. i think it was better translated then the first and it's clear that she learned from her experiences. I'd say that it was still a bit convoluted at times and I don't love the format. but it was good and I felt a little emotional!
at some points, the anecdotes were really hard to get through and I felt a little stupid reading it. i know my fair share about mental health struggles so i appreciated what it was saying about struggles about many different aspects of life. i think a couple of the therapy sessions were relatable to me and i will be reading the next book in the series. hopefully ill relate even more!
um wow. this was a car crash, I just couldn't look away from... onion boy.. you suck at writing and you're a shitty person that writes shitty books. The only reason this isn't a 0 or a dnf is because i was unfortunately entertained and couldn't stop reading. this is all around, a stupid book with a horrible premise. there were so many spelling errors and grammar mistakes..
thank god this book didn't have an ending like “and police brutality was resolved for good!”
the ending that it did have was particularly realistic and I appreciate that.
As for the writing, I wasn't totally in love with it. It felt a tad bit cringy at moments but that's not a bad thing! It just wasn't for me. The story was really good and it has a lot of value to our world today. All in all, I do recommend.
this book made me want hit myself over the head with my phone. if you take the smut at face value, then sure, it was okay but the whole rest of the book had a plot that never needed to happen. Woman gets sexually assaulted multiple times after she says no but it's all cool!! because her body is reacting!! (clearly sarcasm..) So, Zade is a rapist who hunts down other rapists and pedophiles but acts like he is doing nothing wrong and that he is better than the people he is hunting. Zade is not “boyfriend material” nor is he likeable or hot. please don't actually fall for guys like him. also not on the same level but, how many times can this author use “your body weeps for me”
that phrase is cringy as hell!!!!
overall, if you ignore the whole rape aspect (crazy to say), the smut was fine but if you wanted a good romance book with an ideal man and relationship,, you'd be sorely mistaken.
i ended up actually really liking this. if you're looking for splatterpunk, grossness. this book is for you. cannibalism and necrophilia (why isn't there a content warning for that??) I was uncomfortable but I really liked it! also that twist??
i can't in good conscious give it any higher but just know that it is actually pretty good.
it was okay but to be honest, I think this would be way better as a longer story. I like the idea of communicating through emails or chat logs, however was really confused when it ended. I think it really needed to have more because what I was reading was really good.
Fyi, I read this book in an hour 😭
