Taking inspiration from Robin Sharma's 5AM Club, Dan Luca has come up with a lovely system for waking up at 5AM. A key idea he explores is to have a clear WHY for waking up so early. His system includes daily exercises for the mind, body, emotions and soul. Weekly templates in the book help you add these habits into your life over the course of several weeks.
A fantastic book. Must read for all students, aspiring young cricketers as well as leaders. Detailed coverage and narration of important moments in India's cricket industry, and what when on behind the scenes. The challenges, the heartbreaks, the loneliness, and yet, the dizzying successes, admiration and lucrative endorsement deals. All that and more, in a extremely candid and honest book from VVS Laxman. This book is in fact my introduction to many facets of cricket, which I was not familiar with, since I am not a die-hard cricket fan per se.
Note: This book was read as part of exploring non-financial and unconventional autobiographies, to acquire knowledge of fields other than existing specialty, to learn and apply lessons from cricket, a world so similar to business.
“When you invest, first decide the loss you are willing to bear. Thereafter, at each rise sell some holdings and at every fall, buy back.”
“In the stock market you must not be too risk-averse. If you want your investment to be absolutely safe, invest elsewhere. When you choose investments on grounds of safety rather than returns, safety is never guaranteed, but mediocrity of returns is.”

A landmark in personal and professional autobiographies. This book calls the reader to truly let go of the tags society has put upon him/her, and embrace simple childlike curiosity which naturally leads to continuous learning and improvement. A magnificent read.
A fascinating exploration of the innumerable parallels between cutting edge physics and Eastern philosophies. The book tends to become too technical and somewhat boring for the non-scientist reader at times, but the explanations following such technical content is beautiful. The book introduces you to many concepts in the Tao, Buddhism, Jainism, and Hinduism. The overarching summary of the book is ‘entanglement' or ‘interconnectedness'. Every single iota of creation is energy, not a discrete object by itself. You are affected by others actions, and you affect the actions of others. So, choose your thoughts and the people around you wisely, they will influence your future.
A long and satisfying read which simply bursts at the seams with all that investing wisdom packed in. The book very effectively categorises and simplifies the priceless insights of Mr. Buffett and Mr. Munger. It helps greatly, that the authors have an excellent pedigree in Investment and Finance. Book content is well presented, with appropriate comments that explain the underlying concepts referred to by Mr. Buffett and Mr. Munger.
A highly recommended book for all investors who seek to create long-standing wealth, and not merely short term riches.
A grounded and practical compilation of Eastern and Western Wisdom on various subjects of self improvement. If you read self help, you may find some previously read content.
However, the conciseness and story and experience led style of the author is the real value addition.

Highly practical. Chock full of examples of people who applied the so called Big Five principles of success.
Content is repeated at regular intervals. The language also tends to turn ‘preachy' at times, one may notice. It may be assumed that this is done to draw the reader's attention to the said content.
Ideal read for the young man graduating from college, and looking for his purpose in the overall scheme of things.
