i loved this so much! it was just so good. i really love juniper's characterization and how she's portrayed; you *know* she is a bad person, and every thing she does keeps proving that, but the way this is written reminds me so much of some classic literature. the moment "lolita" by nabokov was mentioned i knew exactly what was up. not only that, but having studied tragedies since february i can't help but compare her to the figure of the tragic hero, and i'm so glad i read this book, because r.f. kuang knows exactly what she's doing!
