What is better than a talking dragon? A talking dragon with 3 heads (and a stump from Lefty who is no longer with them) who all have their own individual personalities! Bottomhead, Centerhead and Upperhead once known as Garrodigh the Great Terror has not been well for some time and comes up with a cunning plan to get a better life for himself. He pretends to be an injured dragon from the Winged City so that the humans will take him, feed him and hopefully help fix him.
Once living in the Winged City he gets a rider (Raina - who has always wanted a dragon) who is determined to get him to fly again once his injuries have been healed.
The bond between Raina and Garrodigh (or Mister Slithers as she likes to call him!) grows quickly and soon they are inseparable. In a moment of weakness Garrodigh speaks to Raina (none of the other tamed dragons living in The Winged City talk to their riders or each other for that matter) and after that the laugh out loud moments happen quite frequently!
With a war looming and the need for dragons to be able to fly to assist the humans in saving The Winged City - will Garrodigh be ready and able to help?
This was my first book by this author and I am keen to read more!
Thank you to DAW, NetGalley and John Wiswell for the eARC of this book which I received for free in exchange for my review.
