It was all go from the start but then started to drag towards the end. It was an interesting storyline.

It wasn't what I was expecting- was hoping for more animal stories but reading about Laurie's life and all her mother and her and her siblings endured before and after getting away from her fathe. Showing you how she came to run the Funny Farm which started off as her mother's dream. There were photos near the end so you could see pictures of the animals she told stories about.

It's so sad the life Naomi had to lead hidden away from the world when she was young. Finally when the truth comes out and she finds out she's been lied to for all those years! I was hoping Ben would catch up to her at the protest!

Was so great that the characters that were in the last book I read by her were also in this book. The main character annoyed me a little bit with how she was with Tom initially when he was in Italy. Always trust your dog!

Another great story in the series. The ending left it open for another book so that's good. I keep wondering if each book will be the last one!

I'd heard mixed reviews about this but I enjoyed it. It did jump back and forward in time which I'm not a fan of but it made sense to do it that way to learn the background of the characters.

This was a cute story and I thought the hamster was a great addition. I read it for a reading challenge I'm doing. Genre I don't usually read which could be either science fiction or younger readers. Would have given it 3.5 if I could.

It was OK but a bit too slow for me. Felt like it didn't get exciting until about three quarters of the way into it. Could have even been 50 pages shorter. I read it for a reading challenge I'm doing.

This was a cute story. It was predictable but I still enjoyed it!

Another great story in the series. Liked all the characters except for one of them at the very end - if you read it you'll know who I mean!

Another great story in the Alex Cross series.

It was action packed from start to finish. All the main characters were likeable and it had an epilogue so you could read what happened to them after the war.

Another great story - looking to reading more in this new series.

Wow! What each of the 3 main characters went through was just incredible. I felt for each one of them. I was pleased there was an epilogue at the end so we could find out what happened to them all.

I would have given it 3 and a half stars if I could but not woth 4 stars for me. Predictable story but wouldn't mind reading the other books in the series at some stage.

I was shocked when one of the characters died - did not see that coming at all!
I thought it was another good read, although sad!

Entertaining read - was interesting to read of the covid lock experience in her diary! Read it for a reading challenge for the prompt - based in a small town.

Really enjoying the books I've read by this author. The twist near the end I didn't see coming but pleased that all the characters were mostly going to live happily ever after.

I loved this story and so pleased there are other books in the series. It jumps back in forward in time but it needs to so you can learn about the characters. Gave me Lucinda Riley vibes so I'm definitely going to read more of her books. Not just the others in the series but her historical wartime fiction as well.

A cute story with a predictable ending. It jumped back in forth in time at the start so you got to know the reason she left her job as an au pair and went home. After that it's is all in present day. I would like to read more of her books.

Another awesome book in the series. It was a really quick read for me!
Looking forward to the next book!

Wow! What a life she has had - such an eye opener!
She went through so much growing up!
A true inspiration!

This was my first book by this author and it was so good! Going to read more of her books. I laughed and I had a lump in my throat- it had all the emotions!

Very wordy for such a short story - felt like it could have had less words! It was very slow. I did feel sad for the main character. I can't believe it has been made in to a movie! Only read it for a reading challenge I'm doing - won't be in my to read again pile!

Bit of an emotional rollercoaster! My second book of hers and I enjoyed it.
