I had not been a part of the Reddit thread prior to reading this first book so I went in completely blind. Very good read. Easy to follow. Storyline is fluid and scene changes are quick. Drawn in after the first few lines. I would call it “horror light” with a soft twist of gore. Perfect to read on a camping trip. You just could never hate Kate. She’s powerful and captivating.

I found reading this book out loud made it easier to follow. I would consider this “edge-of-your-seat” type horror. Easy read.
