This was an incredibly interesting read with a great storyline! It features a slightly taboo step-sibling dynamic, but because they weren't raised in the same house, it didn't feel as wrong as it could have.
One thing I really appreciated was how accepting everyone was of their relationship. I expected a lot of outrage, but her sister and the house staff were incredibly supportive, which was a really nice touch.
The book definitely relied heavily on the miscommunication trope. Neither of them would speak up, leading them to constantly harbor negative thoughts about what they thought the other person felt about them. I struggled a bit with Zahara's character arc; her sudden transition from a quiet, sheltered girl to engaging in very public encounters felt incredibly abrupt and threw me off.
While I liked the book, I was left wanting a bit more execution at the end. Even though Zahara already knew what was going on, I would have loved for Massimo to actually sit down and explain things to her himself—specifically opening up about his inner dialogue and those "two people" inside his head.
Overall, I thought it was a good story and a great addition to the series. I am looking forward to the next book!
This book is a wild ride. Damiano is the king of revenge and the title is an accurate description of him, but Gabriella is the real star for me. She is unshakable and refuses to let anyone get to her; she’s just determined to be stronger than everyone else and succeed against all odds.
The story delivers high-energy triumphs and deep, emotional sadness that really sticks with you. Highly recommend if you want a badass FMC and a plot that keeps you on your toes!
I loved the FMC’s "pure motherhood"—the way she keeps putting one foot in front of the other even when everything is trying to drag her down. It was so refreshing that the MMC only grew angry when he realized how poorly people were treating her, showing he truly cared. Plus, seeing his father instantly embrace her and her son was just heartwarming
I just finished rereading this one, and it was just as good the second time. It’s a funny, interesting story that handles the forced proximity trope perfectly.
The best part is definitely the leading lady. She is so refreshing because she’s not afraid to show the world exactly who she is. She never tries to make herself smaller to fit in, and I absolutely love that about her. Watching her go from thinking she’s house-sitting to suddenly being a nurse is such a great setup.
Then you have the hero a typical, possessive alpha which I think is just lovely. He has that "only for her" energy that is honestly amazing to read. If you want a great story with a strong woman and a man who is obsessed with her, you need to check this out.
The miscommunication trope in this book is absolutely wild—total "what the f***" energy from start to finish!
She’s a senator’s daughter and he’s the new MC president, but despite their different worlds, they share the same soul-deep loneliness. Both grew up feeling abandoned and unwanted, and seeing them finally find where they fit together is everything.
Even with the insane amount of miscommunication, their connection is undeniable. It's a heavy, emotional, and wildly entertaining read that I couldn't put down.
Despite the cover’s appearance, Where We Started is a compelling, high-stakes read that effectively breathes new life into the second-chance trope. The inclusion of suspense and unexpected twists kept the plot interesting, while the slow, realistic resolution of the characters' past issues made their eventual reunion feel earned rather than rushed. I particularly appreciated that the leads didn't immediately fall back into "insta-love," opting instead to actually address their problems; I also enjoyed the supporting cast and am holding out hope for a Silas spin-off!
Rosa Lucas has a gift for creating characters with electric chemistry and razor-sharp wit. I loved that the female lead was fiercely independent—she knew her worth, refused to be bought, and never compromised her principles just to give in.
She is a refreshing lead who stands her ground and can't be swayed by money or status. The dialogue is genuinely funny and keeps the pace moving perfectly. I actually learned new, interesting things about IBS that I hadn't realized before.
Overall, it's a great read with equal parts heart, humor, and backbone.
Tropes: Hitman x Mafia Princess | Second Chance Love | Forced Proximity | Ultra-Protective Hero
Kai and Nera absolutely delivered! Getting Kai’s backstory after hearing about him in the previous books was fantastic and rounded out his character perfectly. He is the ultimate lethal protector—completely consumed by Nera, obsessed, and ready to destroy anything to keep her safe.
Nera completely breaks the mold here. A female taking over as the Donna is so rare in mafia romance, and watching her step into that power was incredible. The dynamic between a hitman working for a shadowy government organization and a badass mafia queen made this such a unique, high-stakes spin on a second chance love story.
The setup and lead-in to Massimo’s upcoming story was brilliant, and I’m already so excited to see where that goes next!
If you love a slow-burn dark romance with a fiercely protective hero and a heroine who commands the room, add this to your TBR immediately.
I absolutely loved this story! It felt like a gritty, non-literal Beauty and the Beast retelling that just worked.
The redemption arc was amazing, and I loved how their connection made total sense despite his "dragged up" upbringing and her just following her gut. They are a perfect match, and the way it all came together was just spot on.
Found by Love offers a gripping look at what Luke and Ariana were up to behind the scenes. It was fascinating to see their connection unfold while the chaos of the other couples' stories played out in the background. If you’ve been following the series, getting this "missing pieces" perspective on their relationship is a must-read
