More on the children's literature side of things, but enjoyable. Reminiscent of the Magicians of Caprona in some ways.

Quote marks were invented for a reason.

Enjoyable geeky books.

One funny thing, though, is that I hit a mention of “Christie Campbell, the Vancouver Island enclave leader”, and immediately had to go check - and yes, the author is from British Columbia. A fun thing to toss in for fellow BC'ers!

Unsure what to rate this - really wish GoodReads would have half stars.

An old favourite.

An old favourite!

An old favourite - one of the great TOS authors.

The last story, “In Waiting”, is my favourite. The ending hit me hard.

An old favourite, given a 4 for the good memories.

Read through NetGalley, opinions my own.

Enjoyed this book, a light read with a classic Regency feel.

Some typographical issues in the Kindle version I read, but will doubtless be fixed once properly released.

Positive: I now know way more about salt in history than I ever imagined before.
Negative: I'm not sure I wanted to know quite that much about salt, and did the book really need to be quite that long?

This is a great look at the issues involved, and the changes required. Highly recommended.

In case you're worried, you don't have to re-read (or read) the Glass Hotel before reading this book. It does add something to the experience, though, being able to better notice the echoes of the Glass Hotel in this one.

Very readable, even during an ongoing pandemic. Recommended.

Sometimes, you just need a classic book by Diana Wynne Jones.

Terrific book, will be finding very useful.

Definitely enjoyed this book - recommended. I look forward to seeing what the author will write for her next book!
Copy was provided by NetGalley; review not dependent on that.

Rounded up from 3.5.

Rounding up, but did enjoy!

I enjoyed some sections very much. However, given that the Reader seems meant to be male, I didn't feel terribly welcome in some parts of the book.

I've rounded down for the review, but tempted to raise rating to a 4. Definitely would recommend.

Fond memories of this book from childhood.

Loved this book, it was exactly what I needed to read.

Kept highlighting bits!
