I cannot believe I waited this long to read this novel. Full of wonder, and wisdom.

An eternal elegy that works in strange and weirded forms. Loved this.

“Genesis” is a wonderful long-form poem.

Not gonna give this one a rating, because it's simply not for me. But I did finish it. And that's that.

4.5 stars! This was so strange and so visceral (literally) and super fun!!

I love the band, but was expecting more enlightenment on the lore. The illustrations are super cool tho! The story...well. It's hard to decipher.

Mind-bending.

“Good luck, Parzival,” he said. “And thanks. Thanks for playing my game.”

Funky and emotional! Reminds me of “The Blind Owl” a little bit too.

Meandering. Full of repetition and fluff. Only occasionally useful as a book on the novel craft.

Definitely gave me a boost of bloodlust every time I read it. Good stuff.

DNF.

Not for me.

Alams for Cairo Nights is my fav poem from this collection for sure.

The worldbuilding was certainly my favorite part of this novel.

But like, what was that?

Implicit storytelling, I like it. Perhaps, at times, a bit more exposition could have been appropriate.

“He had a necessary trade. He was a baker. He was glad he wasn't a florist. It was better to be feeding people. This was a better smell anytime than flowers.”

This is powerful fuel to any writer's fire.
