disgusting subject matter, but informative.

My favorite book in the series. Just the right mix of mystery, silliness and heartache. Expands the “Wizarding World” to be more World-like. Hints towards the troubles to come, and lays solid groundwork for the rest of the books.

Felt kinda slow to begin, but that could just be my recollection since I started this book, then forgot my kindle at work before going on vacation. So there was a two week break between starting the book and finishing. The pacing the last half of the book seemed perfect.

Was a quick read, the characters were a bit paper thin, but was a proper “Gumshoe Detective” story with a full fledged magic system thrown in.

Can't wait to move on to the next in the series.

This will be my first re-read of the series. I initially read the first few books a day or two before the movies came out, it wasn't until about book/movie #3 that I caught the bug and started following the book releases rather than the movie releases.

This was better than I remembered. I am also reading the UK versions of the series not that there will be too much difference.

Interesting, now I just need to see the show some day.

This was a long read, the characters were paper thin.

A good overview, enjoyed the focus on the “day in a life” type aspects.

A simple little spy (or rather “Intelligence worker”) novel.

My knowledge of NBF was limited to the one line from “Forrest Gump” regarding the main characters namesake. I believe I now have more information about NBF. I thought the book would cover more of his post-civil war life.

Seemed a bit opinionated, but gave a good accounting of the released documents, and had some interesting interviews.

Pretty much what I was expecting

Better than the movie.

3.5 feels like I have a better understanding of “Putin's Russia”

Note sure if the story really drew me in.

Gonna give the 2nd book a try to see if the rest of the series will stick.

Technical aspects were light at times, but gave good insights to the current (circa 09-ish) state of the U.S's posture in regards to “Cyber”. Creating smart power grids smart traffic systems, smart cars, smart food delivery systems and automating most industries creates targets in a new type of war.

Codified some loose ideas for me.

A couple interesting stories, think this could be expanded with more localized intoxicants from more locations.

It didn't really grab me until the last 20% of the book. But I did really enjoy the final couple chapters.
