How refreshing to have a protagonist that's 30 years old and a bit awkward! And the humour was great too!

I can't believe it's over

3.5 stars :)

Is it well-written? No. Does it have good world-building? No. Is it entertaining? Hell yeah.

// Review from first time reading // I'm pretty sure I enjoyed this more because I've already watched the anime. If I hadn't I might've found it a bit underdeveloped and fanservice-y. I did with the first episode of the show as well. But it gets better!

3.5 stars.

Beautiful and sad!

What the hell????

I'm a witch!!! #EquinoxBaby

This was a “WTF” from start to finish.

I don't think this was for me, if I'm honest...

It's a 3.25 or thereabouts.

This was a really good middle grade that creeps out both kids and adults alike. It took a while to really get going, but I loved the ending!

A great conclusion to a great middle grade series!

Monumental things happened in this book and it got me really excited about the next one!

This was SO cute and I adore the art style. Just pure magic!

I usually never leave a “review” on books I haven't read yet, but it made me incredibly sad that this book has been double 1-starred looong before its release (it's one person having made two accounts just to 1-star a book still being written, how pathetic is that?!) so I just wanted to say – in case Laura Sebastian is ever on here – that I'm really excited about this book and can't wait to read it! Keep up the good work, Laura!

I could look at Jim Kay's illustrations for hours and hours and still be in awe at the magic he brings to them.

Middle grade mysteries are just so enjoyable to me. This one is set in a boarding school, which is a trope I've loved all my life, and it features a main character that gets to grow a lot, a sidekick who is frankly adorable, and it's set in the 1930s, so there's the historical aspect as well.

Also, I 100% pictured Mrs Fox as Matron from “Wild Child”.

The second book of this bind-up was my favourite, but they were both great and I think this book would be brilliant for people who haven't read much adult high fantasy before and want to get into it. It has the wizard and the dwarves and the elves and all you want in your fantasy, but it doesn't bog you down with excessive amounts of worldbuilding and lore.
