Not sure what’s more horrifying to me, a twenty-something reading this: her spiralling or the knowledge that the housing market will only get worse 🥳✌️ Had a great time reading this tho!

This was fine. Have to admit that I find Frances and the other 1960s cast to be more compelling than the casts in the present time. Kinda wish the book had been about Frances and her adventure. Still, pretty enjoyable.

Suffice to say… my life is forever changed.
I cannot remember the last time I had been so locked in that I spent all day and night reading all volumes in the series, staying up until 4am and missing classes just to devour every words in these books. When I reached the last page, I had to take a few minute to compose myself… because I know my brain chemistry was already forever altered.
I don’t think I will be able to review this series without any bias. What is the best thing about this series? Everything. What do I not like about this series? That it ends!!!

A pretty enjoyable read. Not so scary, in my opinion, and the plot did take you to an unexpected place. The characters are lovely, though, and I really enjoy the MC's narration.

The Hysterical Girls of St. Bernadette's is not just a story about mass hysteria. It is also a story of sisterhood, of female rage, of women's identity (as a girl, a woman, a mother, a daughter, a sister), of women's voice. It is a story about finding your voice, and about listening to others'.
This book is in equal part scary and comforting. Terrifying, but full of heart.

One of my most anticipated reads of the year, and glad to not be disappointed! It was gripping and hard to put down, and with every twist, I was drawn to keep on reading to find out more.
Though it certainly did not go to the direction that I initially expected. I had legitimately thought they would completely lose it and start killing each other out of sheer anger and frustration, lmao. The plot took quite an interesting and unexpected turn, and while if feels a little far-fetched at first, I grew to enjoy it.

Tense and unnerving. While the ending does leave a lot to be desired, I certainly respect the artistic intention for ending it the way it does.
What the author would like to convey, I believe, is this: If they didn't know how it would end—with night, with more terrible noise from the top of Olympus, with bombs, with disease, with blood, with happiness, with deer or something else watching them from the darkened woods—well, wasn't that true of every day?.
Maybe there are better way to execute the concept and message that the author would like to deliver, but this book still delivered it in its own strange and compelling way.

Love is what makes a person human, as well as what makes a monster.
Almond is a deeply touching and poignant book about what it means to love, and what love means to one. Despite not understanding what love is, Yunjae shows how to love through the way he thinks of his grandma, the way he visits his mom, the way he eats with Dr. Shin, and the way he chooses to understand Gon. Despite having never been shown love, Gon shows his inherent capability of loving, his willingness to show and share love if and when given the chance.
Luck plays a huge part in all the unfairness of the world. But luck also brings you to meet the people that will let you understand what love is.

Fun, hopeful, inspiring, and emotional. Got me hooked from the first line. Left me with a somewhat bittersweet feeling. I hope every young queer readers in my country will stumble into this book, even without any teacher or librarian directing them, and find pride and joy and bravery in themselves.

Fun, funny, and entertaining. It was a nice lighthearted read; the characters work really well together and their dynamics with one another is one of the highlights of the book. In general, an okay enough read. The overall execution felt quite underwhelming though, especially since the premise was highly promising.
To be honest, my biggest disappointment is the motive of the main antagonists'. It was definitely commonplace and believable enough, but in my opinion, there are a lot of other conflicts that could be highlighted from a Western-centric spy/assassin agency's constant intervention in non-Western countries. But I guess it would have made this book a very different type of book.
