I stand by my initial review with this series, it was just boring. I found myself tuning out for most of this book, and even when there were scenes with action/plot going on, I didn't really care. It's not the worst thing I've read, just wasn't really for me.

I was bored for a lot of this book. It wasn't necessarily bad, it was just... meh. It did get better towards the end, which is why I'm giving it 3 stars, but all in all the FMC is not that likeable yet. Maybe her story will get better as the books go on, but that love triangle just felt really forced, and way too flip floppy. One second she couldn't stop thinking about one of the guys, and then the next page she was obsessing over the other. It was a bit much.

The hype didn't match expectations for me personally. Don't get me wrong, the book is good.. but it's not this life altering, mind shattering story that it is for everyone else.
Definitely an interesting take on the fantasy genre with the concept of the heist, but I just thought this book took way too long, and lost me at several points with the plot. It was more character driven than I thought it woud be.
That being said, the characters are interesting enough for me to want to finish this duology, and the ending was quite good in setting up for the next book.
