The writing is kind of clunky but it is an interesting story that manages to keep its secrets hidden so there's more to look forward to. However, the motivations and inner workings of the characters are also not fleshed out as well. I'm not sure it's interesting enough to continue with the sequel

I guess I shouldn't be so annoyed seeing as the book was published in 2011 but this carries all the worst tropes of werewolf romances.

- an overbearing alpha who is blunt (rude) and violates the FMC's boundaries with explanations he can't give now

- an FMC who the book assures us is a strong woman but makes sure to give her little to no power once she meets the love interest

- using the "mate connection" to ignore sexual boundaries and push two characters together for sexy time

and more.

Sexy does not cure all things and I didn't like any character in this book
