Kind of a strange one to review. As someone who grew up on a lot of Conan in the '80s, it felt like a diluted pastiche (especially the "Know ye, O Prince" type epigraphs. That said, it also seemed to have a theme of the Otherness the author felt being Black in the '70s and I am not the person to decide whether it's there or not or how well it works. If you never get tired of Conan-type stories of impossibly strong dudes wrestling with wizards who turn into snakes, this is a decent entry in that genre.
